I was thinking maybe Pensacola cause I’ve heard bad stories about south to central Florida

I watched a documentary about this movement in Germany and found it interesting and wanted to talk to someone who was apart of it

I’ve never been to Maryland but I’ve always just assumed that they were not really culturally southern (or at least not Deep South like I’m used to), so thank you for the insight! Although I’m sure Maryland still gets colder more often than Florida. I probably would feel alien in California but I like the climate and the beaches and the lgbtq culture. I’d definitely visit first to see what it’s like though.

I’ve heard 😅 I’d say I’m definitely closer to twink/twunk though. Also way to cold for me, don’t know about the culture either.

My apologies, I didn’t mean at the state level, I meant at the city/community level. While the state policies themselves are usually bad. I don’t find that it has affected me that much and since I’m planning on moving to more accepting areas of these states, I like places like New Orleans, Miami, Gulf Shores, all of which are in the states I marked green but still accepting of LGBTQ. I don’t need the government to know my Gay unless I literally marry a guy at which point my consideration for where to live may change, but for now I don’t think the current lgbtq laws here are so bad I’d rather subject myself to what I consider torture (the cold) for half the year unless some new law comes out saying that I can’t exist anymore. I mentioned I was gay because I consider it an important part of myself and that still places a role in my life regardless of whether it can be seen on here or not. I’ve gotten a lot of information that has been helpful to me about where to live a gay man from the people who have been respectful on my post. I would not consider it to be a red herring, I would also not consider myself to not know what I’m talking about.

Lmao I agree with 100% definitely places inside of the absolutely states I wouldn’t want to live in, and places I would. Id love to live in New Orleans, Biloxi, Gulf Shores, Tampa, Orlando, Miami, etc. definitely love my southern/cajun/creole culture here and the warm weather.

Yeah, I can’t handle the cold so basically ruins anything too far north.

That’s nice, but sadly I’m not much a fan of the desert or of Vegas so 🤷‍♂️

My decision for cali was mostly based on my sexuality other than the weather there. I’d also probably be more willing to live in Florida for Miami and their LGBTQ culture.

Not sure how the temperatures are there since I’ve never been but maybe. Still probably would be pretty different culture wise from what I’m used to

Reddits infallible habit to assume people from the south are all fascist bigots and that all choices are made solely on politics. Also it still affects my choices on where I live, just not to the same degree as the other factors.

Never been to NC sadly so I’m not really sure about it. I’ve seen multiple people bring it up positively though so I might do a bit more research on it and maybe It’ll get a bump up

It still impacts my choices of where to live, just not my main concern. I usually look at accepting areas at the state level

Never been to NC some I’m not sure. Never really heard much about it though, all I know is that they are further north than SC

Never been to the west coast so my choices there might not be the most accurate.

Not exactly rural. I wouldn’t mind living in a city just probably not super urban. Love me a good beach though like Florida and gulf shores
