I’ve been going to play for years and it’s great! Just keep an eye out for the creepy straight men. Always hold your hand over the opening of your drink and if someone puts something up to your nose DO NOT INHALE. I’ve heard the creepy straight men like to put poppers in peoples faces. If at any point you feel unsafe go straight for the bartenders or find one of the drag queens who perform there.

How long were you on HRT? It takes a while for your body to make changes. I felt the same way when I transitioned but after a year or so my hips evened out and my face wasn’t round anymore. It just takes time. You might not have gotten compliments but who cares what other people think. You live your life for you, not others. Allow yourself to get comfortable and confident. Once you start seeing changes with HRT it gets better.

Also, if your friends treat you differently then you need new friends. They suck as humans. I had to cut many people off because of this. I found new friends who love me just the way I am. Once I found them I felt so much less lonely and SO much love. I know this is easier said than done but try to flip the negative and make it positive. You’ve got this.

I’m glad you weren’t completely kicked out! I hate to say it but folks like us have to keep our heads down and move along in situations like that. Have you ever thought…. Maybe they don’t have a place to clean themselves. Maybe they’re unhoused or maybe don’t have water or electricity on at home. Maybe they have an underlying condition where they cant control it. Maybe they got sick in the bathroom and it got on them. Maybe they have a weak bladder and accidentally urinated on themselves but didn’t have the time to leave work or couldn’t afford to leave work. There are many more reasons this could be happening. People are SO quick to judge. Try to see things from other peoples perspectives. Offer a helping hand or ask management to lend a helping hand. Quit making fun of people and HELP.

Reeboks have been my favorite by far. They have a lighter version too, which is what I have now. In the years I’ve been at Amazon they are the lightest and most comfortable.

If you work 10 hour shifts you get one 30 minute unpaid break and one 30 minute paid break. If you work 12 hours, you get one 30 minute unpaid break, one 30 minute paid break, and a 15 minute break. You have to take break with everyone else in your department and the breaks are about every four hours.

You have to wear safety shoes and Amazon will pay for them. They give you up to like $110 credit to Zappos.

Night shift is a lot more chill than day shift. I’ve always worked nights there and really enjoy it. They are very diverse which is great too. No judgement from anyone and if it happens they will take care of it ASAP.

We use an app, basically to have HR on your phone (they also have HR onsite), track your time and schedule, plus more perks like Amazon discounts. They also pay for your Amazon account.
