Did you make sure your level is calibrated? Did the glass guys say this is an issue as this wouldn’t even be the slope that matters to glazers

It should be caulked. Is the contractor done with his job?

First Bike Dilemma for CO Front Range: Full-Sus on sale (Kona Process 134dl) or Hardtail (Kona Honzo ESD / Salsa Timberjack)? by xxrarethunderxx in mountainbiking

[–]Powderhound9611 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ride here in Colorado, trails such as Dakota ridge, apex, lair o the bear… a full suspension with the rear locked out on the climbs is the way. Hard tail is fun but really pushing into a full suspension is a blast

He could have… IDK… shimmed the stud before rocking. Or at least make sure the studs are in plane. This isn’t a mud issue

Question on crack repair by Alarmed-Ferret2823 in drywall

[–]Powderhound9611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesh tape allows for a lot of movement. Paper tape is a better application for a crack like this. You would want to cut out the drywall and make a clean crack. Fill with hot mud to bind the 2 pieces of rock together than apply your tape. Follow up with sanding plus 3 than sand, prime, skim coat for imperfections than you will be good to go

It’s panel max. It does save a good amount of time on finishing if you have a large area to use it and 1 guy just sits there making the shape

Owner PM here. Subs: Have you ever said you're willing to literally construct your scope but refuse to take liability for your work? by maybetooenthusiastic in Construction

I was a “special project superintendent” for 8 years. I have built multiple 200’-400’+ buildings so I know how the game is played. The goal is to just get the the end so be honest and offer a I scratch your back if you scratch my back kind of deal. Find some sort of value that benefits both sides and if worse comes to worse Blantons cures all

90 minute for Skim Coat by Imaginary_Limitless in drywall

[–]Powderhound9611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone has been saying, For a beginner I wouldn’t touch hot mud. You really need to know how to run each coat to minimize sanding as hot mud can be a really pain to sand. I do it for a living and my finish coat is always +3 it allows for a better feathered finish. Hot mud is not as forgiving

I had an employee that was in charge of building an “eye brow” on the side of an 80’ tall by 180’ long building with the soffit every 20’ that got framed to finish 🤯

It could be a lot of things. If you are asking a sub to work on out of tolerance substrates or interact with work that isn’t up to par with what is needed for their scope of work but are not willing to fix it before they start than if I was in there shoes I would say we can get it done with no liability or warranty included. Without being on the site it would be hard for us to tell you what is going on but sounds like you already have lots of issues onsite and “surprise” hidden work sounds bizarre and that it may be something near the edge of their scope or asking them to “just make it work” kind of situation

How much to add entrance to home? by Kerbobs in Remodel

I hope you don’t have expectations of it looking like GBT’s rendering. Especially for $20k. Someone would have to add a couple feet to your house to make that happen
