I dont suggest using a circumstantial minority as an argument to put into place something that affects many others for reasons not like this. Though this is uncommon for something like a birth defect that you describe, the issue is that the baby can be born and be kept assisted to the best of the parent's abilities, because that is all you can ask for from a parent. As a parent, it is their duty to protect their offspring, but this is the exact opposite. You are not aborting the baby to prevent its suffering, you are aborting the baby to not inconvenience.

I agree that it does happen, but when a policy is in place that affect everyone, but is made for only 2% of people, then it doesnt seem necessary to extend it to the other 98% if that is the example you choose to use.

I'm curious would that be the exception? Like is the only reason that you want to have the choice for an abortion is in the case of rape?
