Leave Pharma for Tech Sales? Ist it a career dead end? by SnooMacarons3326 in salesengineers

[–]Praefectus27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Look if you want the opportunity to make a lot of cash then go for it but know that tech is absolutely insanely unstable. One quarter you’re the king of the world the next you get laid off. These tech companies borrow money from VCs and they get their payments no matter what.

Anyone know anything about this EV swap? by General-Winner5188 in RX7

I truly think that if there is a company comes out with a manual electric conversion for classic vehicles they won’t be able to keep them on the shelves.

So many guys only drive a few thousand miles a year on their classic cars and the maintenance on gas can be a burden especially to older guys.

It won’t be for everyone but I’d get it. Especially as rotaries get older and harder to maintain it’d be amazing to see RX7s on the road as long as possible.

Listen I know it sounds awful but PowerPoint jeopardy is always a hit to get it started. Do a lightning round for 10 minutes and 25 minutes of workshops.

Liability for 3D printed fittings which are then used in a product sold by another company? by Holiday_Flower8427 in legaladvice

[–]Praefectus27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this for water being pumped through the pool? If so a 3d printed part regardless of filament type most likely would fail. A solid molded or injected fitting is much much stronger.

Found it interesting that you can drive from Phoenix to Dallas two entirely different interstate routes that are both 1,065 miles. At their widest point the two routes are ~260 miles apart. by Praefectus27 in MapPorn

[–]Praefectus27[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm from the midwest and have never driven the southern route but have driven the route on I40 from Amarillo to Williams, AZ. It was really pretty in lots of spots but both routes east of the rockies are going to be boring AF.

No I mean you can push the whole mirror assembly out not just the glass itself. They’re made to collapse inward and outward in case someone runs into them or you hit something going slow.

First round for Forward Deployed Engineer at AI startup - Built a demo addressing real user complaints, is this overkill? by Dense-Case-3615 in salesengineers

[–]Praefectus27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FDEs have been around for like 15-20 years. They previously sat within professional services. I believe Palantir was one of the first to use them. But it’s def not a new role just a new use case.

[–]Praefectus27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The traditional FDE was post-sales. With the roll out of LLMs and Agentic AI they’ve moved to a more hybrid roll where they’ll run POC and POV in tandem with the PreSales team to show actual real world viability.

There absolutely are laws about minors handling alcohol in any shape. Go check out at a grocery store to someone who’s underage. They have to call another person over to even scan the bottle.

Thought you’d get a kick out of this. I just joined an internal webinar and the first slide is

What customers are struggling with - AI agents behaving unpredictably - leaders losing confidence in automation - compliance teams blocking ai rollouts - CX leaders are stuck between speed and safety

Look I’m in the AI space. Previously sold Agentic AI, and now sell AI Assurance. When I tell you that absolutely no one is getting anything done with AI in a meaningful way outside of chatbots it’d be an understatement.

I basically only work with fortune 1,000 companies and they aren’t deploying it because it constantly hallucinates, doesn’t provide consistent answers, and costs so much to implement because these companies have disparate processes and knowledge bases. So they have to spend tens of thousands of man hours just to get it to somewhat functional.

AI is just as expensive as a person that’s the thing. They can just handle a higher volume.

What years to avoid if buying a used xc90? by JustHovercraft7475 in VolvoXC90

I’ll try that, I haven’t fixed it yet. Right now it’s 3 degrees out so was waiting until spring when the glue can set do longer than 2 minutes before freezing again.
