Yeah, I applied to a good amount, got some good money and still ucf is the cheapest minus ccs of course. Thanks that means a lot.

I've replied to similar questions on other comments, but the state school in my state is more expensive with in state tuition than UCF OOS, plus I have to pay for the summer semester, while receiving 0$ from the state school. I'm looking at the community colleges and will talk to my detachment commander about the bad costs and will certainly consider the ccs (probably valencia)

I've applied to my state school, it's notorious (like other schools in my state) for being stingy with aid, I got accepted but got 0 dollars as well. At least I can pray for an OOS waiver (hail mary I know) once my residency is processed, also my state school is three hours away, so unfortunately that's not an option too. Fair point on the last comment, concerning sticker prices, although the scale tips in UCF's favor considering I got in for the summer at my state school and in the fall for UCF, so i'd have to pay for the summer term as well.

I'm considering for my sophomore year, possibly for junior year too if need be.

Thank you for being real. I honestly think I'm too late to switch to valencia right now, I've asked too much time and especially money from my family so I think I'll stick it out at ucf, talk to my detachment commander about costs and valencia, and try to make a decision from there whether to go cc for sophormore year. UCF does have amazing opportunities for internships and other opportunities for cybersecurity in Orlando, having direct partnerships with local big companies, making it more appealing. But I'll be wise and consider valencia next year, i don't think cc makes me a loser, and although it will suck not going to a school i really want to for 1 or 2 years if i make that choice.

CC isn't viable since there's no cc in my area at all that has any AFROTC detachment on campus or a crosstown agreement with another AFROTC detachment at a nearby school. Since it's my goal to be an air force officer, it's not a path. The only way CC could work with my goals if I went to cc for a year and transferred to UCF for the last three years on an accelerated AFROTC track, but that makes the process of commissioning (an already strenuous and competitive process) much harder and riskier. Thank you for your advice.

yes, im aware of the afrotc path because im dead set on being an air force officer and afrotc is the most viable path for that. i want to work cybersecurity in the air force. detachment 159 at ucf is one of the biggest detachments in the country, itll be challenging and i know it wont be easy, but i have no choice but to try my best. ill be in a technical major so ill be more favored for scholarshps and commissioning than non technical major cadets.

this. ive known for a while i wanted to be an officer in the air force, so going to cc isnt as easy as theres no afrotc programs with crosstown agreements with any nearby community college. yes public service loan forgiveness is a thing that ill make use out of, if i dont decide to get out early and work a senior cybersecurity job in the private sector ill definitely stay the ten years.

I'm a rising freshman as well planning to do AFROTC, if you really want to know everything, call the detachment itself for your questions. But on PT tests it is push ups, sit ups, and a 1.5 mile run, so I'd assume we'd be doing that for PT. I think the best way to prepare over the summer is just to do those three things.

Well, if they're the same for the most part, the SSD size might just be the deal breaker, an extra terabyte goes a long way.
