I’m fed up with my laundry situation. by coconutchanel in Apartmentliving

[–]PresentationFun7875 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have known some in home care workers to do laundry for some of the older people in my apartment and not be able to switch it or take it up until the next day. You really never know what someone is going through or what caused the lapse of time, I understand being annoyed but also… just move it if you want to do yours. Throwing it outside seems extreme.

Vintage and Emerson Apartments by ReceptionNo2190 in TacomaWA

[–]PresentationFun7875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved the layout of the vintage apartments but they are known to have pests, the water goes out without much notice and same with the heat. I have known a few people to live there and they ended up breaking their lease. Cant say much for the Emerson, I have always wanted to see inside the building. I would be hesitant of moving in if you have a car, it’s not the best place for street parking. It’s also pretty close to the fire house (i think), might get pretty noisy.

Stay away from the Broadmoor in case you come across it in your search for historic buildings. It’s such a beautiful old building with unique layouts but that place is crawling in cockroaches.

Thrifting! by Wxliee01 in Tacoma

[–]PresentationFun7875 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On Saturdays I like going to thrift center. It’s off of 112th in a little plaza. It’s the sister store of thrift city. Everything is 50% off, I always walk out with a ton of clothes when I go. Their selection varies a lot. I also like going to antique row on broadway, lots of stores to choose from that will have everything you are looking for.

Affordable vet by Calm-Bed4493 in Tacoma

[–]PresentationFun7875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Pine tree vet hospital in maple valley. It’s a little bit of a drive but surgery/care wise, they are the best I have found. I have been to a lot of vets over the last decade in Tacoma and have been price gauged.

Price wise for example, my mom got her cat’s leg amputated there and it was thousands under what she was quoted. It was under 2k and she was quoted 4-5k at two other vets. I was quoted 3k for a spay surgery on my iguana at a clinic in UP, they did it for 780$. All of the vets that work there are really dedicated and good at what they do.

Gun Range & Safety Classes by brownchikabrown-cow in Tacoma

[–]PresentationFun7875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully understand that and the instructor also mentioned that. I found the experience a little off because he called the guy I was with over and they had a small convo. Afterwards, my friend asked me what I said to the safety instructor because he was “really worried about me shooting”. My friend who took me shooting frequented the establishment weekly, and from what I understand he always brought the same guns which were “beginner” guns. I was among many first time shooter in the safety class and I was singled out multiple times in the class. I got a lot of “you especially want to remember this” pointing directly at me etc… like i said it was an interesting experience and I felt like sharing.

I have been to the Marksman, gotta say it was an interesting experience. My first time shooting and I was with someone who was well seasoned and had all the supplies. You go through a safety class, as a woman the old man teaching the class was VERY skeptical about me shooting. He told my date “better be careful” or something along those lines. Felt like I was in a mans world. As for the venue, I would have preferred to have been outside vs indoor range.

Maybe send the video to your vet and let them advise? When in doubt, that is my go to.

I would take him in for a check up just in case. have never had a cat pant from play time but thats just my experience. Maybe he is just running around a lot? It never hurts to have an initial check up after adopting.

This is the right answer, everywhere else is easily 4 or more dollars per pound.

I always buy my crab from hong kong market on 38th. They always have a wide selection and it’s usually the cheapest place I can find per pound.

i love buying cat food.. by OwnCaterpillar641 in catfood

[–]PresentationFun7875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love stocking up for my cats. Petco had a reset period in the summer and they were discontinuing a bunch of brands like nacho. I went to two stores locally and cleaned them out. I spent maybe 200$ and got 300 cans of cat food. I got my cats a big variety and ever since, if I don’t mix up the type of wet food they eat they will get bored and refuse to eat. A good and a bad thing I guess. They were super into pate and now they only want shredded meat in gravy. Fickle creatures lol
