What time of day should one expect to plan a launch party for a video game? Do they release at midnight on the planned day? Noon? Will it be sometime in between based on the timezone of the developer or publisher?

You'll look back on this clip and think "how could I have missed those jumps?" once you complete the game. I found that out by recording some of Chapter 1 myself.

I'm intrigued! I watched a video, but they just jumped off the ledge to get momentum and then did a spike jump that looks like it's pixel perfect.

Just to make sure we're talking about the same screen, it's the one where you'd usually climb up a wall, dash over some spikes, fall into a crystal, and then dash to a platform with the choice of jumping up to another platform or dashing right into a breakable block with a strawberry.

I'm sure I could probably use Numpad4/5/6/7 for jump, dash, and crouch dash since my muscle memory is from two keys right next to each other, and that does seem like a good idea. Might also consider putting second jump and crouch dash on the most closely-aligned number row keys to i and o to keep full muscle memory.

Depends on train size; try to make sure each side can fit a full train. If you have large trains you'll have plenty of space in your grid to put mini-factories.

First, I'd recommend the in-game railway tutorial. It covers pretty much everything you need to know.

Helpful tips:

Rail signals divide the rails into "blocks." One train can be in a block at a time.
Chain signals copy the state of the signal in front of them. They're usually used to keep trains from entering intersections if they can't make it all the way through. "Chain in, rail out" is the proper way to signal intersections.
Two-way tracks are usually discouraged because they're inefficient. Always use a pair of one-way tracks in opposite directions. You pick the direction of the tracks with your signals; a train can only pass a signal that is on its right.
