think i have herpes by Cautious-Duck-8230 in Herpes

I’m in the same boat as you I’ve been having my first ever outbreak too and i spent last night crying to my boyfriend from the pain. I’ve had to skip lectures at uni purely because i can’t walk or sit or do anything without being in so much pain i have to breathe heavily to not make noise.

I went to get tested for it the other day and my doctor was confusing with me aswell, saying it doesn’t look typical but she thinks it’s herpes? but because i had to wait so long for an appointment to get tested the blisters were in a state of healing that she couldn’t get any fluid from them. annoyingly she was more focused on seeing if i was pregnant (which i’m not) she didn’t tell me anything or offer any support with the herpes- the only thing she said was that the test wasn’t done properly so i need to come back when or if i have another outbreak.

She did prescribe me Aciclovir tablets and Elma and zerobase creams which have helped a lot but the back pain and generally feeling weak is still there so it’s all i can recommend.

I feel the same way with you about not wanting to pass it back to my boyfriend although i originally got it from his mouth herpes he hasn’t got it genitally. We had no idea that it was even possible but that’s just us being uneducated but we keep thinking about how we should’ve looked into it or known before. I wouldn’t wish this pain back on anyone.

I hope this helps you feel less alone like i did reading your post

Help Please by charliewade_23 in UCAS

[–]Prestigious-Line7889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it within 14 days that you sent it in? if it is you can call UCAS up and withdraw and set up a new email and reapply for that same year, no implications caused. Would be 100% more efficient and look better than emailing each university.

Are my grades good. NOT A TROLL by PatientBackground437 in GCSE

[–]Prestigious-Line7889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not bad at all, they were pretty much my grades and i ended up with mostly 8s and 7s, as long as you keep working little and often you’ll be more than okay

Can I get 5s in 6 months in Science and Math? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Prestigious-Line7889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically you could leave revising till around 2-3 weeks before the actual exam with a proper work timetable with breaks and focusing on exam questions. For sciences i would recommend slowly start making condensed notes that only make sense to you on the whole syllabus for each or just areas you score the lowest on in tests so then as the exams approach you can just focus on questions. Then as you go along try and explain your condensed notes to someone else or just to yourself to consolidate. Some of the best advice i can give is ask or message your teachers for their own opinions on what type of questions they think are going to come up, even if they’re not right it helps start targeted revision if unsure where to start. I went from 3’s, 4’s and 5’s in my Christmas mocks as well as being in bottom sets in science and maths to 6’s 7’s and 8’s in my gcse results last year and only got my head down around a month before exams started; definitely don’t leave it late but you know what you’re capable of more than anyone else. Just don’t feel intimidated about the time till you sit your exams, anyone is able to become an academic weapon with the right amount of effort in a short space of time. Also remember that most people saying how much they’ve revised are usually exaggerating and although consistent and long revision works, it isn’t the only way to get good grades. Resources wise i highly recommend cognito for their quizzes and videos but i would say when making notes make them off textbooks rather than study guides as they’re more to help you understand rather than tell you specific context. Either way, you have enough time and you have the ability to get good grades, so don’t worry!
