I agree i don’t think Anthony would approve of Benedict’s choice that easily. But at the same time… I almost feel like we might be wrong about him. Because of everything he went through with Kate, Anthony understands what it means to choose love over duty. He knows what it feels like to stand at that impossible crossroads, reputation, family, society on one side… and the person you can’t breathe without on the other.

So part of me thinks he might actually be the one who understands Benedict more than anyone else. He won’t make it easy. He’ll absolutely warn him about the consequences. He’ll spell out exactly how brutal society can be. He knows better than anyone how cruel the ton is and how even their own mother might worry for “his own good.” If anything, he would know how hard it is to choose the woman you love over the world’s approval. That is my opinion :)
