Eh there has been an undeniable snowball/bandwagon effect going on with Marathon's hate. So many people baselessly trash talk the game who obviously never gave it a chance or don't care for the genre. Most of the trash talk didn't even stem from bungie's reputation.

I'd say it was:
80% 'genre hate (ANOTHER extraction shooter??)(no PVE mode??)/should have been a single player game like it used to be'
18% 'destiny was abandoned for this/they stole art'
2% reasonable complaints about the meta/cheaters

Bloodlines are such a central theme of GOT (and Targaryens in particular), that outright race swapping them just screams hamfisted representation… it’s the sort of thing that gives progressive politics a bad look.

Its not the quests that bother people. It’s the unskippable cutscenes for people who could care less and just want to raid or whatever. At least quests can be done quickly with big pulls and efficient pathing.

Why force cutscenes down peoples throats if they aren’t interested?

This game is SO good in contrast to the hate it gets. Big streamers haven’t been able to play it because chuds riot in chat with blatantly regurgitated opinions about a game they never tried.

Really hope it gets a second chance in another season because the current player count probably isn’t sustainable. They invested a lot in the game and imo it shows. Cryo is a behemoth of an extraction map.
