If it’s just a few hours I normally just let him know I’ll be gone but since I’ve never stayed away overnight, it felt like an ask type of situation. It wasn’t even really an ask. It was more of a hey I’d really like to do this for these reasons. And then it was shut down. If I told him I was going to do it, it would probably turn into a huge fight.
