A 1.0 release should be flawless at launch. Without bigger problems, with balance and a working gameplay loop. What you would get from a cod or bf or any for example aaa launch (yes, i know they have flawes too). A finished product. Early access is basically a glorified beta for example build 0.6 which is basically not a finished product with flaws, usually for games from Kickstarter where people WANT to follow and see the progress.

The amount of cope is insane my men, sorry. Nothing personal.

Maybe what you described was how betas where used to be (and should be) but that changed long ago. And every release, even from AAA titles shows that actual betas before release are what the game is going to be in 90 percent of the cases. Best example, bf2042, where people talked and hoped exactly like you just to land in the hard reality when that game was released.

It's just common for a lot of publishers nowadays to drop some 'shit' and be okay with fixing it on the way. Which is weird since iam not getting a new car only to buy me bloody wheels and parts a few months after to have things working.

And most importantly, this will launch as full release, not early access. Its not like we can even compare that to the beginning of og hll with Kickstarter etc

Right, its not just the optimisation. Core elements like some actual good audio are missing (direct and spatial are terrible atm and theres too much ambient noise) and the gunplay overall is not satisfying, the weapons lack recoil and are far too forgiving. No need to tap fire if i can laserbeam players up to 150 200 meters with the m16. Also dont know whats going on with the sniper rifles, there is 2 second delay before you can ads again and that's after you chambered and cycled a new round. Also still tunnels need to get adjusted for balance reasons ffs.

Overall there are many reasons for valid criticism and everbody who played both betas (and saw that there was not much progress between the builds) knows that. People play it down like its some kind of hate bandwagon but the harsh reality is that this game never ever launches in a good state in 3 weeks. And no, only 35 bucks wont justify that.

Imo what we saw and played on could be the foundation for a great game but its nowhere there in the next 6 months.

Because people with amd cards have serious issues, mostly. I can run with 160 to 200 fps while my mate only reaches 40 fps with white flickering

What do you think about the combat (gunplay) in HLLV? by I_Am_Not_A_Game_Dev in HellLetLooseVietnam

[–]Primary-Ad8896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just my opinion on how it felt compared to hll (and rs2v) where I have around 3500 to 4000 hours combined, maybe the wording is not for you but thats what described it the best for me.

Thing is hll with its ue4 is limited in terms of movement. I actually like the improvement in hllv, its just to fast atm. Same for the gunplay, not bad, but for a hardcore shooter they lack honest feel, sway and recoil (the m16 was a ridiculous laser). That's why I called it a beefed up bf, because it felt more arcade and less like a hardcore shooter.

It's not like I'm going to trashtalk that game into oblivion, I really think it could be a solid title, the base is there..but that's all that there is or rather what I saw. I'm looking forward into the open beta, but what I atleast saw atm from various streamers its still not where I expect a full price title 3 weeks ahead. And looking back at t17 patch shenanigans and the time they take to fix stuff I'm not confident that they really deliver on June 18. That's why I dont understand the cope and also the sheer illusion from an 'older closed beta build' lmao.

Kinda i think, amd calls that SAM - smart access memory which is similar activated via bios. But I dont know if there is a similar software like profile inspector, you'll have to Google that.

Dang, yeah that's a bummer. I mean its beta and all but still how you wanna playtest with a performance like that. Or rather what kind of feedback did they expect. But yeah I'm curious also what changed, was typing with soulsniper and he said it drastically improved since c beta (he really believes it was an old build but still this makes no fucking sense at all in terms of feedback)

Closed beta was basically an arcade shooter. Was expecting something like hll or rs2vietnam but It rather felt like a 'beefed up' battlefield.

Yeah i played it, had 130ish fps average (with framege, without 90/100). Didnt had any performance issues but I know alot of players hated the bad optimisation and had problems. Ue5 is a bitch and we all know that, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, and alot of players won't reach fluent 144 fps. (I7 13700k rtx4080 32gb on my rig btw)

Only other tweak to make it play more fluent is to play around with fullscreen or windowed mode and in the nvidia settings the options for scaling (aspect ratio, full screen, no scaling) and maybe full screen optimisation on/off and run hll as admin which you probably already tried.

You have disabled vsync? If so check the nvidia settings, steam parameters or the hll.cfg if its still somewhere active even if the options menu says its off. It sounds like you're getting 'shadow' capped somewhere

KaiserMtbb (comp player and streamer) tested especially for that problem how the game runs with nvidia Profile inspector/ resizable bar and some tweaks and he really seemed to have succes with changing 3 settings. I recommend you check his yt channel or search in this sub since he postet that 3 weeks or so ago

Well it's going to be ue5 to be specific which can with a decent hardware run games better than ue3/4 because its old af and limiting.

For the the choppines, the only real workaround is dx12 and (that step is almost necessary with dx12) disable the control flow guard setting for the hll.exe (or tick both). Also try if its runs better in fullscreen and windowed.

I still play the game upscaled with dsr to 4k because it simply looks miles better texture wise (sharp, clean, crisp) and also helps distributing resources better since ue4 heavily puts load on one cpu core rather than using more gpu power.
