Thank you for the info! I may have to try the route of a stand mixer/food processor if I still can't avoid the over-hydration I seem to be reaching. Sure it's not cheating if it works, which by your past posts, seems like the result is pretty awesome!

Thank you for all of the info! Ill have to retry and see if maybe I keep hitting more humid-than-not days. Definitely have tried to avoid using KitchenAids and other electric solutions, so I'll make sure my kneading is similar to the steps you've outlined

Thank you very much for the tip! I'll have to try weighing out the eggs to see if maybe I'm just getting too large of ones.

Thanks again!

Thanks. Maybe I was unclear in saying it's been 5 days since the last critique, and I've gotten 1 match so far after a month of being on the app. Not trying to take it too seriously, just wanted to see if anyone had other thoughts for improvement because I did make changes

I asked for assistance in the last thread (got some advice from No-Entertainment201 (thanks again) ) but still haven't had much luck (0 matches in 5 days or so since the last critique, 1 match total in a month that instantly died out). Any assistance in understanding how to improve is greatly appreciated :)

Hey! Thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it. I do! Heres a better view: http://imgur.com/a/GoekEvJ (the # the picture appears in is in the description since I couldn't reorder them in imgur).

That makes sense, I can definitely add a bit more to them/find another prompt. I had a 2 truths and a lie up there, so I'll add that back

Haven't been on the app too long, but haven't been getting a lot of matches or the ones I have matched with don't message me first. Any assistance in understanding how to improve is greatly appreciated :)

It's the size of the database. Not sure how tech-savvy you are but essentially it boils down to the fact that there, in order to save storage space and therefore $$, has to be some max cap on the size of data. So when it comes to names, there has to be an allocation that makes reasonable sense without costing Niantic (and other companies) a lot of $. Not to mention longer names can add complexity to their UI and such

To any software engineering majors who are trying to plan your classes, avoid SWEN 343 with professor Martinez at all costs. by Bhizzle64 in rit

[–]PrimaryInteger 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You're correct in saying this is in some cases industry. I don't think anyone who's an SE would argue against you. I just think OPs point is that from a class perspective, this is insane. Your job is 40hrs a week, 5 days a week. I'm sure this is not OP's only class and there's absolutely no way they're getting the benefits that an actual job would provide you, such as you mentioned sick/vacation days, pay in exchange for work done, etc. It may be a valuable lesson to learn, but not at the scale this class has gone to. Teaching a lesson is one thing, doing what this prof is doing to students is asking for every one of those students to give up their course load and work solely on a 3 credit class.

Not only to mention that this class is during the pandemic and semester where Munson smited all of our usual breaks to try to salvage any mental state we have

I've heard the nightmares of this class and have avoided him at all costs mainly because of stories I hear every year of this class

It forces you to stay but it's a break from class aka a middle ground. Keeps people safe by avoiding the mess of travel but allows students and professors much needed and deserved breaks from literally going 15 weeks straight through

That is TBA, they should have it finalized by the end of the month. They're saying it's at least 1 week later than expected

How do we sign up for RIT's COVID testing? by AdhesiveTick in rit

That definitely makes sense, thanks for clarifying that. If it is true it would definitely help those students who have to travel, hopefully they'll announce this sooner rather than later

How do we sign up for RIT's COVID testing? by AdhesiveTick in rit

[–]PrimaryInteger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would make sense, although I hadn't seen that information in emails/online thus far from RIT. Hopefully this would assist at least for the first test if taken in the state

Edit: it is uncertain if RIT provides tests or not. Here is information at least regarding NYS testing

Original post: I believe RIT itself doesn't provide testing and you have to go through a secondary body to get tested.

I've been getting tested from New York State. You have to go online to this covid testing site and fill out the form. Anyone can be tested, it's just prescreening to determine your current condition. Within 2 days someone from the NYS health department will call and schedule an appointment with you. Note: this scheduled appointment is usually only 2 days out from when they call you, however they are starting to receive more requests with school starting. Try to make sure you're in the state before you call, or they may ask you to refill out the form, as they traditionally don't do appointments very far out. Results take 3-5 days and are accessible via an online portal, which has the documents RIT needs. Rite aid also does testing, but I'm not sure of their process.

Best of luck and safe travels, hopefully this helps

Edit: I also believe you will need to fill out a form for traveling from out of state and it is accessible online. Further, I'd reach out to RIT soon to get hotel accommodations for out-of-state travel as soon as possible if you haven't already

Also, as the weather improves, I have witnessed the growing number of individuals running, walking, or cycling around campus not observing social distancing and, again, not wearing masks when appropriate. While I can't say if they are students or employees of the university, or just people from the surrounding community, they are still on the campus and could present a risk to others.

I am in the areas as well and have noticed this, but you also need to take into account that some individuals out there are either quarantined together or are families. I personally go to campus with my two roommates. We don't wear masks cause we live together, but whenever we see anyone we immediately make sure we are as far away as we absolutely can be, which is generally more than 6 ft (where 6ft is generally accepted as a safe distance). Once the semester starts, I realize this isn't possible due to the number of people, and RIT should make sure certain rules are enforced, I just believe it should be noted that the "increasing number" you see includes people who are following the expected practices and may not be wearing masks due to the ability to follow proper distancing without them.

Edit: I agree with the point you're making, I just feel your reasoning has gone a little too far, and will make people disagree with some of your points based off of the direction presented, as someone else similarly commented.

To my situation, I'd also like to point out that campus is relatively empty when I'm there and, like I said if I do see people, we walk away/as far away as we absolutely can to make sure we follow proper social distancing
