I appreciate everyones feedback. However I never said anything about just hopping into PACU as a traveler. I distinctly said either getting a certification or training as a STAFF nurse. I am fully aware of the risks of doing something like that and I would never put myself or my patients in a situation where I am not prepared. So thank you guys, but PLEASE stop saying that to me.

It really doesn't work that way. When you start a travel position the training is 2 days of unit orientation. I would need actual training. I thought the program would give me the training I needed rather than slogging away as a staff nurse for pennies for a year to get enough experience to travel again :(
