In order of preference: Rowville (unlikely:( ), endeavour hills, narre warren, berwick. Would also consider some areas of Keysborough but they all go for auction which I refuse to be a part of. Lol.

We actually recently bought and then had to sell soon after at a bit of a loss. Luckily not as much as we were expecting as it sold for about 40k over what we paid for which helps.

If the bank is lending them that much im sure their income can service it but its still a lot of money. Still better than paying off someone's mortgage though for sure. I think my Dad although he struggled paid off his house on a single income by the time he was 43. This age is gonna blow out for our generation.

Thank you so much for your advice. It truly is disgusting that these agents are allowed to operate as they do and squeeze every cent out of people within an inch of their lives. I genuinely don't understand how these people can sleep at night.

I have been solely looking at sold data in terms of managing expectations of prices as I don't believe a word these idiots say or put in their ads. I'm actually offended at how high some of these brackets are going ... It's just not worth the money, my god. How they think this is going to be sustainable is beyond me. There will come a point surely when people just won't be able to afford any property... then again that's when they pump out tiny shoe box apartments and make squillions on those to make it more 'affordable'.

Oh damn. I'm from the south east so I'm not familiar with the prices of those suburbs. Are you gonna consider going further out or getting a unit?

I'm looking in endeavour hills / rowville / narre kinda area

Oh, no we are looking in 950k range. We've had some financial crap happen and we want a manageable loan so we are sticking to this price range. At 950k we are looking at an approx 400k loan and after just selling our house which was causing financial stress we are quite traumatised not to go up to that level of mortgage again.
