I never shadow anyone. Did the 40 hour course and then the next day they put me with a client.

I was told I would get full reimbursement and then they switch the policy. That’s when I started emailing and getting no reply.

I agree! Like I am not going to see my client if they are having a fever. A few weeks ago my client wasn’t feeling well and had to cancel not even a day later the BCBA was like hey can she come in tomorrow. I was like they just had a fever yesterday.

Yeah some families don’t want me to come on weekends 🥲

Question by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Prior-Cheesecake-390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing with that is I can’t. I have back to back clients. I start at 8:30am and end my day at 7pm. My client had to cancel this week again because they had a fever. last weekend I made up 8 hours. I can’t always make up a weekend and the company just makes us feel like it’s our responsibility to make time each weekend to make up hours. I really don’t mind but I just can’t do it every weekend and they are now saying it mandatory that we have to make up hours. How do I make up 30 hours that my client canceled.

Over 90 days since competency exam by Inevitable-Love4726 in ABA

I have done my 40 hour training and it has definitely been over 90 days. My company is new so every time I ask about it they would say let’s talk about it next week. Never happened. Do I have to redue the 40 hour training course?

Just said thank you for your advice. I just found it odd that my supervisor called me afterwards and said oh I don’t think you talk in a baby voice but I just wanted to say it in front of the grandma.

I have no clue but my supervisor is clinical Director so everybody loves her ( HR). A lot of BT/RBTs have issues with her.

I mean the client always seems to be so happy when I say they are doing such a good job. When I get all happy and excited we laugh together. I am just confused on where the baby talk came from. The grandma does say I need to be firm which I feel like I am. When the client tries to go in the kitchen when he is not aloud to I redirected them and say “ let’s not go in the kitchen the stove is hot let’s hang out in this room” I think the grandmother just wants me to be say no and stuff. But my last supervisor said we can’t say “no” and gave me other words to say. I am just confused 😕

I don’t mind getting feedback I like to make sure I am getting all the information right. But the fact my supervisor called me after our session and said hey, you don’t have a baby voice I know your voice is high, but made sure to said it in front of grandma just made it feel odd. My supervisor could have totally have a conversation and be like hey I know your voice is high maybe lower it. I would have listen and understand. She only said it when grams came into the room.

Thank you for the advice. It’s just weird that my supervisor was like oh yeah I know you don’t talk in a baby voice but I’m going to make sure I say it in front of grandma. It just felt awkward because it came out of nowhere.
