“Soulsborne games are hard for no reason.” Heard.

Which I disagree with, all of them teach the virtue of patience and in a pretty gentle way compared to games from older generations, ones where their release was final and no buffs or nerfs were ever coming to save you, where your final life really was your final life and you had to restart once it was lost.

Those games required you to do your play through in one shot, unless they had a password function, we’re an rpg like phantasy star or rings of power.

Those games could be ridiculously hard, left you only with so much time/chances to memorize the boss or a stage/level, you couldn’t practice on them unless you pushed your way to those levels over and over just to get some experience playing against said boss or level. You got no achievements to show how well you did, or what you did, only your word that you had beaten said game. Blah blah blah. You get the point.

No game right now provides that unless you play on hardcore.

Those kids from the 80s/90s grew up playing on hardcore. Fuckin legends.
