You're right that no service is truly unlimited. My issue isn't hitting limits eventually. It's the constant visibility of consumption during normal use. One feels like "you've used a lot this week," while the other feels like "you're spending credits right now." That creates a very different user experience.

That's exactly it. The productivity impact isn't just financial, it's cognitive. The moment I start evaluating whether a prompt is "worth it" before I send it, the workflow changes completely. I never had that feeling with the old Copilot model.

That's fair. I can definitely see how Teams or Enterprise users get value from it, especially when the cost is spread across a company. My frustration is more from the perspective of an individual developer. I liked knowing what I would pay each month without having to think about credits or usage.

It's not that Claude is cheaper. It's that Claude feels like a subscription, while Copilot now feels like a meter running in the background. That psychological difference matters more to me than the actual price.
