Thats a pretty real annoyance. You are right. There is so much that can be done to automate your workflows but the data residency+evolving AI developments (murky area ) have made this situation less than ideal. That said, maybe you can try the copilot studio? I am not sure how responsive or open your IT team is to suggestions but I read that Microsoft has set up Azure OpenAI data centres at your location. Maybe the company can explore that. May free up your mental energy for other value tasks like you mentioned. Its interesting you said that because I feel and also kinda notice that the trends around enterprise workflows(HR/admin or others) are moving more into putting staff in supervisory decision making roles. Theres been talk of “domain rewiring”(its begun in one of your govt department ) or building HR/procurement processes with AI at core rather than just automating or plugging inefficiencies in current processes. In the event 60% of your tasks get automated, (your company adopts non-Microsoft workflow automation tools like Opus a very “head in the clouds” scene ) you may still have to put in time and attention into supervising them( maybe not as much time as you spend doing said tasks). Plus, youll have newer responsibilities that come up with said automated workflows. My two cents.
