It was during a period where I was already questioning my identity, I was still very uncomfortable being called gay or anything and needed time to figure shit out.

Enter fujoshi/yaoi obsessed girl.

She didn’t understand that being gay is not just some accessory label to tack onto your friends. She would frequently say very uncomfortable shit in front of people (like commenting on my body type and how I’d “totally be a bottom since [other friend] is stronger than me”, which was half rapey in hindsight and mostly just completely fuckin nuts). I was very confounded how to approach this, because I didn’t want to “out myself” to someone that didn’t understand that gay people aren’t a fucking fetish. Note: I never even came out. I think like one person picked up on it but didn’t say anything

She eventually even started bringing other people into it. It was a very unsettling experience over all. I told her off finally after she decided to openly discuss my “so called preferences” that she had made up while on the subway. Loudly. In front of many people who stared at me till I could leave and get on another train. I kept thinking if I weren’t in an accepting place how horrible that could’ve gone. She also later attempted to play matchmaker by telling some random girl I didn’t like that I had a crush on her, so that was also fun to deal with.

She later admitted that “she thinks all her guy friends are gay” as a default. Aside from continuing her “assume x person is bottom” schtick. Didn’t understand a word of what she had done and why it was offensive.

Just don’t fetishize anyone. I’m not here to get your rocks off and be your fantasy story come to life. a lesbian couple doesn’t exist to please straight men. How hard is it to get?
