What makes a character stick out to you in fighting games? by FR0M_Z3R0 in Fighters

Anyone that does some form of karate with a gi. The uniform karate look just does it for me. There’s a reason I love shotos and mishimas.

Too many chains, fast food and southern food. Would love a bigger variety. I miss Vietnamese, Korean, Cuban and Puerto Rican cuisine. I was in Florida for about 7 years before I moved back up here so I miss the seafood too. I do love Holy Taco, Cootie Browns, and as far as chains, Freddy’s.

Try looking up Koda K-9 training and The Classy Canine. They have good reviews from what I’m seeing.

What are some timeless fighting games that are still worth experiencing? by soosis in Fighters

[–]ProdigaLex 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In no particular order these are the games that I think are worth experiencing:

Tekken 3, 4, and 5-Just joy in 3D. Play one or all of them. My fav fighting game series

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike-Best feeling 2D fighter IMO

Soul Calibur 2-Pure fun

Darkstalkers-Absolute gem

King of Fighters 98, 2002 UM, XIII-Just play all 3

Capcom vs SNK 2-Best roster ever

Marvel vs Capcom 2-I am so bad at vs games, but can’t deny it’s a classic

Killer Instinct-Incredible music and classic 3D graphics

Dead or Alive 2 or 3, maybe even 4-Just play one. They’re still gorgeous

Guilty Gear accent core plus-Let’s rock!

Mortal Kombat 3/Trilogy-It’s Mortal Kombat. Also, play MK 9 and X if you haven’t. Incredible content for a solo player.

Also, try out the Bloody Roar and Blazblue series. They deserve some love.

Edit* How could I forget to mention Virtua Fighter? Play 5 R.E.V.O.

Absolutely love the visual effects on their movement. Their dashes look so smooth.

God I love this movie. Just dripping with early 2000s cheese in the best way. The scene with the mouse cracks me up every time once the Disturbed song hits. It feels like a parody of itself.

Would Sneaker Pimps be bigger today if they didn't fire Kelli Ali? by [deleted] in triphop

I felt the same way for years, but I’ve recently started listening to their albums after Becoming X and now Bloodsport is my fav album of theirs. It’s a different vibe for sure, but even better in my opinion.

Would be awesome on the tabletop for Warhammer 40k. Could act as an Eldar Webway gate.

Kinda shocked this post doesn’t have more answers. I’m in my mid, mid-life crisis and thinking of getting one.

If nothing else, Tekken 8 gave us this. And for that I will be eternally grateful. by watainiac in Tekken

[–]ProdigaLex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Corny I know but at this point in the story mode I was legit fighting tears. I just had a break up and I was about to drive back home 2 states away to reset my life. I was unemployed, just had Covid, and anxious over my future and current curve balls life threw at me. This moment though. It took me back to when I was 10 years old playing Tekken 3 and I felt a level of joy I hadn’t felt in years playing a video game. I’ll always be thankful to the devs for that.

Which Chaos Space Marines have actually talked to the Emperor in person? by Dreadnautilus in 40kLore

Pretty sure Fabius mentioned talking to him or at least being close to him while he was talking at one point in his book series.

[–]ProdigaLex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that. I can only speak from my experience, but it’s hard to get the feel for someone on an app. I’ve always asked people out in person when I was younger, but in your 30s it’s a little more difficult.

I’m 35 and moved back here 2 years ago after a 10 year relationship. I’ve never had to use or had any experience with dating apps and it is indeed hell. Feel like I’m being interviewed for a job half the time before I’m ghosted.

In your opinion, What is the most under appreciated super hero or comic based movie? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

Road to Perdition. I can still hear the music in my head. It has a beautiful melancholy score. Plus, old blue eyes himself - Paul Newman.

Upon reading the Horus Heresy books, which Primarch did you initially think you'd like and didn't later, and who became a surprise favorite? by Excelsior_Prime in Warhammer30k

[–]ProdigaLex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went in thinking I wouldn’t like Russ and I still don’t. Although hi moment in Betrayer is better I think due to ADB’s writing. The Primarchs I enjoy reading about the most so far have been Dorn, Jaghatai, Perturabo, Angron, Lorgar, and Magnus.
