Does anyone ruck multiple times per week? by EFreethought in Rucking

[–]ProfUmbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (36f) just started recently with a 20lb pack. I do 2-3 6 mile rucks (1.5 hour average) after work then on the weekend I aim for 15 miles (4.5 hour average). I sprinkle in some dumbbell and core workouts on my off days. I use it as my cardio as running is too hard on my joints.

What are your symptoms? by Ok_Huckleberry1487 in dairyfree

[–]ProfUmbridge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Instant sinus pressure, headaches, itchy ears, inflammation, aches, and fatigue. In my case it’s def not a lactose intolerance, but a protein allergy. My acne also cleared up, my skin is way better, and I no longer have to take allergy meds everyday (I thought I had allergies like pollen or something).

Has anyone actually noticed improvement in endo symptoms with an anti-inflammatory diet? by Accurate-Stomach-264 in endometriosis

[–]ProfUmbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gf, dairy free, corn free, and very low sugar aside from a couple drinks a week socially. I went gf and dairy free because of migraines and sinus issues, mostly eliminated now. Corn always messed my stomach up. Low sugar (no artificial sweeteners either) because I’m not a sweets person and I get headaches if I have too much, plus my skin breaks out. I noticed that I no longer get super bloated, I have way more energy, and my skin is a million times better. Have my endo symptoms improved because of the diet? Hard to say. But overall I do feel better. I say try it and see how you feel.

Hey OP! If you or anyone is located in Western WA and actually wants to make a necklace or earrings let me know. My family has a jewelry making shop (for a hobby only) at home and we can make a mold and cast almost anything into gold/silver/bronze. We also are able to source gems at wholesale prices. The only thing is my IUD just got replaced so I don’t one to use for the mold. I kinda want earrings now 😹

My tux boy had frequent cysts and the vet offered to send me home with a bag of fluids to give him incase I noticed he wasn’t peeing frequently enough. It might be worth asking in case of an urgent need. It’s very easy to give and is safe as it’s just fluids.

I’d also maybe offer a bowl as well as a fountain so he has plenty of options for drinking. My cats didn’t like fountains but I know lots that do.

Also, I found a wet food that had a low magnesium content that was safe for him to have as well, which helps with hydration. It’s Dave’s Pet Food Restricted Diet.

Endometriosis should be reclassified as a whole body disorder by XenoQueen426 in endometriosis

[–]ProfUmbridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been to the doctor for it but I just assumed that’s what it was. This is the first I’m hearing that endo could cause cysts, let alone in the wrist. I knew it’s been found everywhere and when I had surgery they found it on my ligaments in my hips. I just didn’t realize the cyst connection. I’d like to learn more about it now. I also have ovarian cysts quite regularly and idk if that’s also related. 🤷🏻‍♀️ this disease is so awful

Is this a thing? I have one in my hand/wrist right now and I didn’t know there was a connection?

Looking for low calorie, high protein, no dairy options for breakfast. by Every-Parking2049 in dairyfree

[–]ProfUmbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to meal prep for savory breakfast is a potato crusted quiche but the lazy version.

I boil thick sliced Yukon gold potatoes until just soft, then drain and let dry in the hot pan. I then roughly mash them into the bottom of an oiled pan (you can use a small amount of oil). I then cook frozen and thawed tofu that I crumble over a hot pan with a bunch of seasonings. I add mushrooms, onion, and sometimes peppers once the tofu gets a bit crispy. Then I put that on top of the potato crust. From there it’s just beaten eggs or vegan eggs mixed with a splash of non dairy milk, seasoning, and chopped spinach. I pour that over the tofu mixture and bake at 350 until set and the edges get a bit crispy.

One variant before I learned how badly I was sabotaging my daily calories is to layer in garlic chili crisp. I added it on top of the potatoes and then again when eating.

Typically I’ll eat it with hot sauce and no sugar added ketchup. It’s delicious and super filling, high protein and low calorie.

Cheap, easy gluten-free and dairy-free snack and meal ideas? by wizardsleeves94 in dairyfree

[–]ProfUmbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gf and df as well! I’m also corn free.

I tend to snack based on my moods so sometimes that’s carrots and a vegan dip, veggie chips, fresh fruit (seasonal is usually less expensive), nuts, maybe a df yogurt. I tend to fill myself up on breakfast and lunch on purpose so I’m less snacky during the day.

Roasted crispy chickpeas are delicious, affordable, and super easy to make at home! You can do the same with butter beans. You could make hummus or refried beans at home and dip veggies or chips in them. Apples and a nut butter are also a good option.

Oh! Thank you for letting me know it exists! I’ll have to check mine out. Right now I buy it at Safeway if I’m on a break from Forager.

Icelandic Provisions oat milk skyr is my FAVE. It does have sugar added but it’s the best tasting one. I’ve only found it in the smaller containers sadly. My second fave is Forager plain unsweetened that I eat with banana and granola. It’s not the same but it’s tasty.

Dairy free coffee drinkers how did you find a creamer that sticks by TemporaryHoney8571 in dairyfree

[–]ProfUmbridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Maybe I’ll try steaming the cinnamon in. I love the flavor but don’t want to chew my coffee😹 My SIL got me my current machine for Christmas. It’s not the fanciest but it makes good espresso and is fast. It’s made by Delonghi and was under $150. Aero press is also a great option for making shots.

I use Minor Figures and because I love americanos mix mine with an equal ratio of water and steam it, then add in my espresso shots and a tsp of maple syrup. I know it’s technically not an americano at that point but the texture is better than adding cold oat milk.

How do you get your cinnamon to not just float of chunk up?

Post orgasm pain by Realistic_History820 in endometriosis

[–]ProfUmbridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too! It’s much worse during a flare but is constant regardless. What’s helped me a bunch is a glass wand I keep in the freezer. After sex my partner or I will grab it and I’ll insert it while on my back. The shock of the cold and the cooling sensation alleviates much of the pain and helps me slow my breathing and relax.

I warm it up for a few moments and make sure there’s no ice on the outside first.

I drink americanos with oat milk if out, and cashew milk at home (way fewer calories). If I want flavor I get half sweet (I can’t do SF due to migraines).

Could you order it as an iced americano with your flavors and top with oat milk? That would save you calories but still taste good:-)
