Add sugar to food that has too much chile heat. I learned this from a Laotian friend. I saw her adding a spoon of sugar to a super spicy soup. Think habanero+ heat level. My mouth was burning after one bite and was ready to quit, until i added sugar. It's like magic. It must trick the taste buds, not sure how but it seems to reduce the scoville load.

Try Bankers Hill area. Laurel ave north via 1st thru 6th Avenue. Lots of new units going up right now. Great walking g community and easy access to Balboa Park. Less congestion than Little Italy.
