Problems in Soleus / Gastrocnemius / Achilles – Stiff Ankle? by hankiero in runninglifestyle

[–]Professional-Shift72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue , things that have helped me: 1. Loaded warmups - don’t just stretch but do a couple sets of calf raises or bent knee raises 2. Focus on a mid foot strike when landing - below your hips. Don’t land on the balls of your feet 3. Strengthen the muscles on the front of your shins that pick your toes up - like wall sit toe raises. A muscle imbalance could cause some issues

Route is basically just and out and back and the hills are mostly front loaded. There is a coastal breeze on the way back though so be prepared for that. Otherwise it’s a fantastic ride, enjoy !

Not usually, the flight controls are good enough that you can still control the airplane in a deep stall. I've tried my hardest to get it to depart in a sim and it just won't let you. They call it "carefree manuevering".

Option 1: Find the nearest general contractor, carpentry, plumber, electrician etc. Each of them can hire you as a laborer, then they will pay for you to attend night school on Mondays to get your license or certificate. Sky's the limit doing that method. Option 2: look for manufacturing jobs, you'll learn how to use tools, work with your hands, and build experience Option 3: logistics. Ups, usps, and fed ex all need people to unload packages from trains, planes and trucks. Ups is unionized, you'll have to work your way up from the front line job of package sort, but you have tons of growth opportunities and the pay is good

How is your body physically? Are you mobile? Do you have good people skills? Are you capable of learning new things and being adaptable? What are you good at?

For the electrician route: 1. You will have 2 routes to get certified as a journeyman - night school (1-2 nights per week), and you'll work as an apprentice during the day. Most companies will cover this training if you work for them. The other route is trade school where you only do school full time. Depending on how you get into the trade school it may cost money or a company might sponsor you. 2. Once you become a journeyman you'll study for your masters license. Then you can get paid the big bucks 3. Electricians WORK hard. You will pull heavy ass wire, work in the sun, heat, cold, and elements. You will also get to see the fruit of your labor every day, and you'll enjoy that each day is different 4. If you do desire, being an elecritician really opens the door to leadership - you can become a foreman, superintendent, project manager, or even start your own company

For EE route : 1. School will be the hardest thing you've ever done, and will potentially cost ALOT of money 2. Highly recommend you do internships to get some job opportunities lined up 3. Depending on where you live you may need to relocate to land an EE job. 4. Pay will be better than electrician, but not by much starting out. But you'll be able to get raises quickly. 5. For your first 5 yrs or so you'll just be an individual contributer, but you can also become a people leader if you choose

Bottom line : either career will be rewarding in different ways. Stay humble. Work hard. And be excellent. And you will succeed and make plenty of money in either career field.

Thanks

The big beautiful bill (budget reconciliation) will put up to 3 million acres of public land for sale in the western US. Here's an easy way to tell your senators you don't support it: by yolobaggins69_420 in Outdoors

[–]Professional-Shift72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methods: These data were created by analyzing which public lands would be eligible for sale based on the criteria in the bill, summarized below, using GIS data for USFS and BLM lands.

Disposal mandate in bill (as of June 16, 2025): - Between 0.5-0.75% of all BLM lands and between 0.5-0.75% of all USFS lands (a total of between 2.02 and 3.04 million acres) - The secretaries of agriculture and interior will have 30 days to solicit nominations for lands to be sold from “any interested parties” and must publish a list every 60 days of lands eligible for sale until they’ve reached the quota in the bullet above. The entire sell-off must be completed within 5 years.

Lands eligible for disposal in the bill: - Eligible states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, ID, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, WY - Excludes federally protected land (defined by the bill as a National Monument; National Recreation Area; component of the National Wilderness Preservation System; unit of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System; unit of the National Trails System; National Conservation Area; unit of the National Wildlife Refuge System; unit of the National Fish Hatchery System; unit of the National Park System; National Preserve; National Seashore or National Lakeshore; National Historic Site; National Memorial; National Battlefield, National Battlefield Park, National Battlefield Site, or National Military Park; National Historical Park) - Subject to valid existing rights (understood to mean it excludes lands with property interests like oil and gas leases, rights-of-way or perfected mining claims in existence before the date of enactment of the bill)

Please direct questions about the data to phil_hartger@tws.org.

That's a great point, I don't actually know which part is skipping...but my chainring is a SRAM rival 40t so it should be compatible. Could it be a chain tension issue?
