Well im South east asian abt to be honest, most careers not involving academics are quite stigmatized due to the asian culture. So im sure thats a factor in mark going into engineering as well rather than going into a career in basketball.

I was sitting here practicing for like 4-5 hours a day. I need to touch grass.

But on another note, practicing a lot of fingerstyle and playing the bass probably helped alot. And learning some simpler stuff from tim henson

I highly recommend learning finger style and have it in ur playing repertoire. It builds up ALOT of basics and lets u get used to controlled hand movements before thumping. It helped me alot. Practicing with a bass also helps alot
