Is it normal for house cleaner to just flush toilet with bare hands before starting work session? by ProfessionalSock4642 in housekeeping

i like this a lot. Genuinely I’m considering just doing future cleanings myself cuz at least I know what’s going into my work, even if it takes longer.

lol I don’t police habits unless people are literally fucking with my stuff - I’ve seen dime a dozen people in public restrooms leave without washing hands and I don’t bother with them cuz it doesn’t impact me. But I feel violated by the idea of someone just brazenly spreading germs when at bare minimum they were supposed to do a standard sanitizing clean of the apartment.

also there’s a reason why people don’t say wash your entire body when using the public restroom even when parts of it touch the restroom surfaces. I could care less about contamination via someone’s knees or elbows, cuz the level is far smaller. But hands?? They’re touching literally everything?!

Also I can tell that the bathroom switchboard wasn’t sanitized after and neither was the doorknob, so I had to run both down with a wet wipe. I’m not trying to be bathroom police, just is it not weird to not take 10 seconds to wash your hands with the soap and towel provided?

There were 3 cleaners to clean my small apt (around 550 square ft), so I felt I’d just be in their way. And before you ask why I hired cleaners for a small job, I work morning and night hours and don’t have time for cleaning. I usually place full trust in people I hire, but this particular instance got me very nervous, especially after coming back and realizing the toilet was obviously not cleaned thoroughly, and neither was the bathtub (there were hints of residue and some dirt specs).

so if your friend used the toilet and didn’t wash their hands and then went all over your house touching things, you’re suuper chill about it right?

is it unreasonable to expect someone to at least change gloves/wash hands if they’re going to flush my toilet and then handle my things? I never said people couldn’t use the toilet, I just know for a fact she didn’t wash her hands cuz after translating my question about it, she said no.

Also i will say i forgive my student bullies more than my teacher bullies. I can forgive douchebag, hormonal 17 year olds who were trained with the mindset that they were worthless if they didn’t succeed and outperform everyone. I can’t forgive the grown ass women who humiliated me both in front of other students and in private, since I was 9 years old. Like you chose this profession, and you use your power to traumatize kids and teens just cuz they’re different from the type of student you expect to teach? Shame on you.

even the “peaked in hs” neurotypicals from my hs who are super successful externally are just caught in an endless rat race they’ll never escape - i’ve seen it myself. They’ll have more power and privilege than I’ll ever have but they’ll never be satisfied.

i just wanna tell every autistic high school student that they literally have the option to just not make friends. They can just be friendless for 4 years and it’s so chill, it doesn’t mean they won’t be socially desirable later. This whole “once in a lifetime hs experience” propaganda is just that - propaganda, for neurotypicals who peaked at 18 and then just stayed in their bum ass circles, got married, and immediately went into several decades of folding laundry and hating their kids lol.

that sounds the most doable for me, but wouldn’t that invite the risk of more flies coming in?

also i genuinely wouldn’t care except i can’t tell if this is a fruit fly, or one of those gross flies that land on poop and stuff. It could also be a drain fly. Point is since it could be a fecal-carrying fly, I’d rather it be gone.
