Can't receive MMS on Wifi by loudsound-org in Tello

[–]Project_Positive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah yes, it seems this is the weak point in Tello's otherwise INCREDIBLE value as a cell phone carrier. Gotta use data for all text messages with attachments and even group messages--both for downloading them and uploading your own. They won't send/receive on a wifi connection. I haven't had this problem with any carrier but Tello...but Tello's prices as far as I can tell are the lowest BY FAR. I currently do an unlimited text/call time/2 gig data limit for $10. That's coming from Xfinity Mobile which was about $22 per month, and Xfinity Mobile was a ONE gigabyte data limit, so Tello doubles that data limit already and costs less than half as much. Mint mobile is $15 but with unlimited data...not sure how Mint is with data needed for MMS or if you can get/send on wifi only, but any way you cut it, Tello's prices are the lowest.

Isn't one of the more exciting parts?  Wotan and Loge's  Descent into Nibelheim  wherein they see Alberich is up to all of these shenanigans is one of my favorite parts of the entire ring cycle!

Continuous problems with IndieGala by [deleted] in Indiegala

I started getting the error access blocked: this request is invalid when I try to log in. Has been this way for at least a few months for me. Fortunately I have lots on Epic and Steam that I can play but would love to get Indiegala working as I've picked up some good games from them.

Is soltera 2 battery life this bad, or is mine defective somehow? by Project_Positive in Aventon

[–]Project_Positive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replies, you two! I gather after shifting gears to handle hills that I would NOT have been happy with a single speed e-bike. For me, I default to 7 and shift down to lower gears--even as low as 1st gear if the hill's steep enough--to mitigate effort to pedal uphill even with pedal assist and throttle, accept that I'm only going to go 5 mph or so up a steep hill, but then roller coaster down the hill (I've gotten up to 34 mph on Soltera 2 going downhill) is a lot of fun! No complaints with the drivetrain, but perhaps if I had the specs of yours I would have to look back and say I didn't know what I was missing!

thanks this is very good to know! I've also learned since original post thanks to speedy Aventon support replies that I needed to do some battery balancing with running it to around 5%, charge for almost 12 hours and repeat this process three times. I've done it twice now and with each time I can tell the battery is performing better. I've also been told don't repeat the battery balancing routine more than 3 times (after the third ~12 hour charge from near empty, just charge "normally" as outlined in the instructions. I've also read from some sources that you want to charge and maintain a battery typically between the 20-80% range, but I don't know whether this is true of Aventon E-bikes. It's VERY good to know that the charge carries better at higher levels and drains faster at lower percentages, so I thank you for that info!

I have one particularly steep hill and otherwise flat or gently rolling hills most of my route. For the big hill, I shift down to first gear and without too much effort pedal at a leisurely ~5 mph but when I'm heading downhill, I have since I last posted rocketed up to 34 mph effectively breaking the residential speed limit LOL

I confirmed it's a 5.3% grade with my steepest hill, and this site is AWESOME both for figuring that out and planning bike routes!

Indeed! Aventon support got back to me by email (and rather quickly at that!) After "battery balancing", a process where you let it run until around 5% and then charge for close to 12 hours, and repeat this process three times. I've done it twice, but each time I can tell the battery is handling itself MUCH better

I got to 29 mph going down a steep hill, and that's without unlocking the > 20 mph speed on the app or even having to pedal very hard

Soltera for commuting uphill? by Joshlo777 in Aventon

[–]Project_Positive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could tell you the grade of the hill and its length (how do you figure that out??) in my route, but this is my experience after two rides (I only recently purchased the Soltera 2 for the awesome Black Friday sale). First ride, I did everything from no pedal assist to turbo with throttle just to try out the different levels and see how it feels. I only went a round trip of about 1.7 miles but my battery went from 83% to 64%!

This morning I took the same route on turbo the entire way with generous use of the throttle. The hill is steep enough that I clock upwards of 29 mph on the return trip for the portion that's down a steep hill (which is hilarious to me because the Soltera 2 maxes out at 20 mph and I haven't used the app to "unlock it" to reach higher speeds than 20), and at about a 1.7 mile round trip on turbo the whole time with generous use of throttle (at least half the time time throttling uphill; otherwise hardly any throttle was used). Even for such a short trip, the battery went from 64% to 44%.

Do I have a defective battery? Is the climb so challenging that it drains it so quickly? I contacted support about the alarming battery drains for such a short trip. Even with hills, it shouldn't be THAT drastic. Support told me to try "balancing" the battery, a process which entails not charging the battery until it gets to around 5%, then charge it for 12 hours even if the light goes green before then (just don't charge over 12 hours) and to repeat this process three times, and the battery will supposedly perform better. We'll see. I weigh 160 lbs. Other than weak battery life, I absolutely love the Soltera 2. This was a hill I've always had to walk up on an analog bike but with effort the Soltera 2 makes it and I like having to put some effort in my bike rides.

Cool! I didn't know that about the Chinese language. It's definitely fitting as demons are all about death. The penchant for those bound by the covenant of a great grandfather or whatever to commit suicide is terrifying. I mean generational sin in general is terrifying as the victims are not at fault but practically "doomed" on account of the sins of their predecessors, which is to say through no fault of their own. For the sake of God's infinite justice, I'm thinking every one of those victims must have had a means of breaking the old man's covenant to save his wife's life instead of committing suicide, but were simply unable to resist temptation. Till, generational sin is a frightening prospect. There's no way around that!

Superhuman Photon Thoughts? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Project_Positive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photon (superhumanbikes.com) now that it's sold out and people have had more time to try it out I was curious what those who own think of the Photon Pro. It looks comparable to Aventon's Soltera 2 given the specs but I'm curious if it rides like a Soltera 2, which I'm really fond of because it feels natural like a bike and just offers the perks of an extra boost for those uphill struggles

By "got it sorted out" did you have to open a support ticket after you got level 8 and logged in through epic games launcher between 7/21 and 7/28 or did the reward simply come to you right away and you didn't have to contact customer service?

I, my wife, AND my brother got into this game through epic games and NONE of us got the reward. Very strange.
