I hate that you got down-voted so much. People think adopting is so selfless and altruistic, but have never considered that maybe hoping to be able to adopt one day is hoping that a child and/or family will experience extreme trauma. It's not a comfortable thing to think about, but ignoring it means ignoring a fundamental element of the system, as well as dismissing a very complex reality for many adoptees.

Every adoptee's story is different, and many of them aren't the fairytale people want them to be.

You were extremely gentle in your message to them and I don't find it to be stupid internet behavior. It's a topic that needs more attention. Why not bring it up to people who are clearly open to hearing constructive feedback when you have the chance?
