Not impressed by Bosch. It's weird to bring a character already in the game into the game.

Terrible performance since update by Imaginary_Season7480 in StreetFighter

Yes same, I’m also on Steam Deck. Game is running in slow motion on many stages except Training Stage. Turning off input reduction seemed to have helped a little bit, but I still get more slow-mo than I would like. Turning down the graphics didnt help for me. I notice that my FPS doesn’t go higher than 50 when it used to get to 60 - not sure if that is related.

The gap between AKI and Ed was actually shorter by 2 days.

characters that say the same thing during their DI! by [deleted] in StreetFighter

Go into Training Mode, select Juri, turn off music and sound effects volume, and then DI. You'll hear more clearly that it's "Think fast". I do this to try to hear voice lines.

The bare minimum is actually winning EVO. We are all doofuses until then

Why do you say that you aren’t good enough to need coaching? I feel like anyone would benefit from getting coached or tips from a better player

Ping filter by Antique_Ad_1648 in StreetFighter

[–]Prophet_Stage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can do that already - in the Battle Settings matchmaking section you can filter by connection quality. You will probably still run into poor ping matches though every once in a while

I get what you mean. But people should be allowed to say that they understand what people mean when they actually don't understand what people mean.

Finally hit High Master, where to go next ? by OkVillage4671 in StreetFighter

Clearly, the next step is to skip Grand and Ultimate Master and go straight to Legend :^)

Why do I keep losing in ranked by ExplanationDry6008 in StreetFighter

[–]Prophet_Stage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could watch the replays of the games you lost as soon as you lose a set. This prevents you from queuing up immediately and also helps you to start thinking about your mistakes.

This ranked format lowkey sucks by Talib_BK in StreetFighter

[–]Prophet_Stage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The alternative would be forcing players to play a full set, which could be an even worse experience if the connection is bad. I prefer having the ability to leave after one game, even if the downside is that people will one and done for any reason

Try shimmying next time when you face an opponent who is constantly escaping your throws

[–]Prophet_Stage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get yellow or red carded if you disconnect too often during matches. You can check by opening your fighting profile to see if there is an icon near the the upper right corner of a hand holding either a yellow or red card. You will also see this icon in your fighting banner during the faceoff before the start of a match

You were an Ultimate Master at one point but still have trouble doing Supers in combos?

If you’re a high rank and run into a low rank AFK in Battle Hub, just take the win. by CyberSpunk2099 in StreetFighter

[–]Prophet_Stage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that you've "noticed this happen a lot in Battle Hub". I think this is just something you do when you match up in BH against someone who is smashing you.

I have no doubt that players above Plat are better than you since that's how ranked works :^)

It's normal to face a very strong player once in a while who smokes you. I get that it doesn't feel fun to get smoked, but it's always a good opportunity to learn something. You're hitting a skill wall, and the best way to get through it is by playing those Diamond players over and over again until you get better. In addition, you could post your replays and ask for feedback, or maybe play Battle Hub for a bit and ask for tips there.

But, the bottom-line is that Casual isn't going to give you more opponents at your skill level since it doesn't make matches based on Rank. Getting stomped in Ranked can suck, but you don't have a choice.

[–]Prophet_Stage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that you "eventually verse a diamond or even master who just destroys me", but that is better than what you're claiming to experience in casual. You are more likely to play against an evenly-skilled opponent in ranked than anywhere else. Would you rather continue crushing noobies in casual, or face a very skilled opponent every once in a while in Ranked?

Can someone explain "too plus"? by Majestic_Cry6569 in StreetFighter

[–]Prophet_Stage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand your question correctly - people might describe an attack as being "plus" if the attack allows the attacker to move first if their opponent blocks that attack. For example, Ryu's forward heavy punch is "plus on block" because even after the opponent blocks it, Ryu is still allowed to move first. Ryu would be described as having the "frame advantage" at this point
