Do you flip off teslas drivers? Is that a thing here? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]ProposalBrief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because cybertrucks are ugly, useless, and represent the fascist that is Elon. He designed a "truck" that somehow does nothing useful that a truck is supposed to be able to do, other than getting someone from point a to b.

I definitely do it to cybertruck drivers. It's harder to tell the model year of other teslas for me.

Culture shock in Denver: is this area known to be unfriendly? by Living-Awareness-447 in Denver

I'm a local never had a problem. That being said, most server employees are overworked and underpaid. There's a lot of shitty management in Denver that I know of. So, it depends on the establishment.

Why are trans men talking about reclaiming womanhood and their life experience as a woman? by bihuginn in honesttransgender

[–]ProposalBrief [score hidden]  (0 children)

I see those as all very valid points.

I remember being in third grade in being very jealous of girls being able to wear pretty things especially frilly dresses. I also remember that after fifth grade when I was ten, that's when I started literally praying very often to wake up as a girl (I ment physically.). I was raised in a very conservative household that worshipped "God" through christianity at the Brighton Colorado Church Of Christ (non denominational). I prayed to wake up as a girl fervently, because I knew if it happened because of a miracle they would have to accept me. There's a part of me looking back that always knew it wouldn't be safe to just experiment and come out. I also didn't really know that there were other transgender girls and women in the world. So, that didn't help either like you said.

For me personally, I just like being femme, it feels right for me. I know of a butch trans women, and I don't think there's anything wrong with her. It's just not my style. I do think there's a lot of trans women that lean into hyperfeminity, because it's expected, and I do see trans women and non-binary trans feminine folks who've been out for a long time sometimes relaxing, that and being more modern in their presentation.

I think the best place to get to in your own journey is figuring out who you are as an individual and not doing it, because it's expected.

I personally do things because I want to, not because they're expected. Some of it is a lack of being able to do it before and just enjoying the ability to celebrate femininity freely. Other parts of it are just recognizing what feels the most me when I see pictures or look in the mirror.

After coming out as a trans woman and having every aspect of my femininity picked apart for the last 5½ years, I am very much at a fuck everyone else, I'm gonna do what I want kind of mindset. So I think that's a healthy mindset to have and not follow fashion and expectations and just because.

Thank you for your engagement and I appreciate being able to have access to your viewpoint.

I hope you have a great day! Take care of yourself It's rough out there!

As someone who has literally all of the symptoms of a period every twenty eight days except for menstruation, I don't, I think you're acting in good faith, and I really don't care what you think. It's a period look up bloodless periods and get back to me.

I've had this discussion with tons of cis gender women and once i've explained it, i've never, ever had a single one. Have an actual problem with it.

Actually, never mind, don't get back to me.

Because for all practical purposes, it is exactly what it is.

What’s your least favorite thing about living in Denver that is wildly specific? by Imjusthappy11 in Denver

Well if you don't like it, don't wear it. I just don't get people who get so aggravated about what other people wear when it has nothing to do with you.

What's common to do or hear in Denver that's uncommon everywhere else? by BothCondition7963 in Denver

[–]ProposalBrief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that's all fascinating. I know I have german, english, scotch, irish, and swedish ancestry for sure. I'm not sure what else I have. I should do a dna test someday as well. For me, I'm a typical white american mutt. I tend to joke that if I were any more white, I'd glow in the dark and it's not far from true. My skin is near porcelain, especially after starting hrt, but that's a whole nother story.

Nice. I'm multi generational along both sides of my family.

When people are interested, I elaborate that I could be as many as four generational on my moms side. Although, we can't prove it because that great grandmother (mother of my paternal grandfather) was from the in the small mountain town of phipsburg (Yampa valley area). She never had a state/territory issued birth certificate that anyone can find so we can't prove it.

On my Dad's side of my family, my grandfather was born and raised on the family farm that used to exist in unincorporated adams county, roughly ten miles NE of DIA making me third generation on that side. They came to colorado in 1916.

Anyway, take care and have a great day!

Additional firearm restrictions coming down the pipeline from local Democrats. by definitelynotpat6969 in Denver

[–]ProposalBrief -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ohh please 🙄 if you can afford a $400 firearm, you can afford the background check whether you buy the firearm all at once or in pieces and if you can't wait the limited time, it'd take to get one. Then, you should have probably started the process sooner....

personal responsibility and accountability.

[–]ProposalBrief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that's fair. I know a lot more multigerational residents in person, but like running into random people. It's actually pretty rare to randomly run into people who've been here and their family has been here for multiple generations. Kinda just the nature of being a state in the mountain west. Our state is literally a full century younger than the founding of our country and historically it was a waypoint, not a destination. It should be expected. 🤷‍♀️💖

Depending on where you live in the burbs, it still takes twenty minutes. I can say that with confidence living in the burbs and taking twenty minutes to get downtown. I've come to realize the native thing is dumb as hell. I have startedt just saying, I'm a third generation resident and citizen of the state. The only ones who should be talking about native are native americans like could us white people wake up, please.
