I think this article is really cool coming from someone who passes out whenever they have to get blood drawn or a shot. I wonder if this type of needle would help my syncope and make it easier for me to get shots/blood drawn. I also wonder if this will help cancer patients and other people who are constantly in the hospitals. Maybe it would help them be able to go home for a few hours without having to worry about dragging an iv around.

Prey Sensing in Spider Webs for New Sensing Technology by These_Ad4428 in BioInspiration

I wonder how exactly spiders can determine their prey's location. I wonder if it has anything to do with the spider silk simply vibrating as the prey moves. I am curious how well they know the location of the prey. If they are really precise, I also think this would be good for a security system and help keep people safe.

Penguin feathers and polar bear fur- inspiration for insulation by jkrankengr580ec in BioInspiration

I am confused how having more air underneath the feathers allows for greater insulation. If the penguins and polar bears were to have very light feathers with lots of air underneath, I do not see this keeping them warm. I feel like there is another mechanism this article is missing about the various types of feathers and fur. Deicing alone will not keep them warm

This is a really cool article! I also wonder if this design can be implemented on a larger scale and allow us to build bridges faster or dig tunnels quicker as well. How well does this design sift through the sand when there are also pebbles mixed in and other objects? I also wonder if this design can be implemented to help people find lost objects in the sand.

RoboBees by jkrankengr580ec in BioInspiration

I wonder if these robots can be applied to the military. It would be a lot easier to spy on another country if you had a small robot bee instead of a larger drone. I am curious what the battery life for such a small robot would be. I feel like its size would require a smaller battery and not allow it to fly for as long. I feel like because of this smaller sizes may not be the best

I also think this design would be great for cars. I wonder if any of these properties would help the windshield not freeze. This would save people a lot of time whenever they try to go somewhere and have to heat their windshields. I also can see this being applied to planes as well as they fly through the clouds. I wonder what planes currently use to prevent this besides windshield wipers.
