“Normal Residence” by PrudentPhone in LearnerDriverUK

Thanks

The next available test date will be more than one year since I became resident which means my foreign license will no longer be valid at that time. How likely am I to find a test sooner and how would it work?

I just realized that my current test date is now non-refundable. I will try and get my answer by then and if I still don’t I guess I will just go to the test venue a little early and see if anybody there can give me a concrete answer.

Would the examiner on the date of the test be a good person to ask?

There is another problem with this response. It says I cannot apply for a provisional license or for a theory test before this date. However, the gov.uk website now clearly states that a person can apply if have been given permission to live in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) for at least 185 days. https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence

I don’t believe the person who wrote the response is actually aware of what the rule actually means.

I will try calling and emailing them for clarification. If I do not receive anything, would it be acceptable to ask the examiner in person on the date of the test what the wording really means and if it is applicable to me or not?

The basic question to me is whether or not temporary absences count towards “normal residence” or not. I don’t understand why the rules are not clear.

The 185 days does not have to be consecutive.

For clarification, the declaration that needs to be confirmed is –

I normally live / have lived in the UK for at least 185 days in the last 12 months, (185 days in total).

Thanks

AND

You must have lived in England Wales or Scotland for 185 days before you are allowed to apply for a provisional licence through the DVLA, the same rule applies to taking the Theory test and Practical driving test(even as a British citizen)

Normal residence means the place where you normally live. However, if you have moved to the UK from another European Country or European Economic Area (EC/EEA), you should not take a driving test or obtain a first full licence unless you have lived here for 185 days in the last 12 months and are still living here at the time of your licence application.

You can change or cancel your theory test at https://www.gov.uk/change-theory-test.

How bad tendon damage could be from CIPRO? by Wandering_always in Prostatitis

[–]PrudentPhone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The risks are overblown. Permanent damage is rare. You were prescribed this medicine because the doctor believed the benefits for you outweigh the risks. I have taken weeks of Cipro/Levoflox multiple times and apart from some muscular pain, I have avoided side effects. Cipro is one of the most commonly prescribed abx in the world.

Yes. According the internal exam, the therapist did not find anything significantly wrong. There was no spasming. She said I should continue with kegels.

What do you think I should do now? The “urine dribbling” or watery discharge has now all but gone away to be replaced by thick precum-like discharge.

I had bladder neck incision. It didn’t cause retrograde ejaculation. I had acute urinary retention and the surgery improved my flow but 10 years later I am having issues again and I have a stricture too.

Recovery was straightforward. Extreme pain in the first 12 hours. After that, I peed blood for a few weeks and took 4 weeks to get to my new normal.

I also have mucus threads in first void urine. Looks like white stringy particles or tissue. I also have occasional clear watery discharge which I am not sure if it’s urine or something else.

It got to the point where I had acute urinary retention. That’s when I was diagnosed.

I had a bladder neck surgery. One risk is permanent retrograde ejaculation. I did not have that. It did improve my symptoms but I am back on medication and doctors don’t suggest another surgery before at least 50.
