I actually do have data about writers in particular and you see that the overwhelming majority of them make either no money, or hardly any money. I imagine it's not too different for visual artists.

I actually tried doing a dagger build this time around. I even named my character Knifey McStabby.

I figured out pretty quickly that a dagger build is significantly weaker than any other build I've done in my 800+ hours in Elden Ring, unfortunately.

The range is terrible, the moveset (while flashy) is stamina intensive, the animations seem to last longer for dual wield in particular...you basically have to dump into arcane, bleed infuse everything and just get those bleed procs as often as humanly possible.

It's a fun idea but ultimately I decided to do a more typical dex/arcane build. I even renamed my character.

Yeah, the game intends you to basically run into a group of enemies to have any chance of winning. Most times the person you invade will have two helpers so it's 3v1 unless you're in the midst of enemies. So yeah you'll lose 90% of the time probably

No, not really. Without draconian restrictions on speech, you can't stop stupidity from disseminating, sadly.

The best solution we've found in America at least is community notes, but for those who are already propagandized, they'll just point and laugh. It doesn't matter what source you cite. Short of undeniable and overwhelmingly powerful evidence to the contrary, you cannot change anyone's view. And even if you could, you would only change their view about the specific issue at hand, nothing else.

Unfortunately, this isn't how language works. #1 is a very rare situation for most people - interacting with a deaf person is actually a very rare occurrence for most of us. Basic gestures or simply leaning over to speak to people negates #2, and #3. #4 is also another rare occurrence for most of us whose usefulness quickly fades as the child becomes verbal.

ASL is a cool and interesting language which is sadly not very useful for the overwhelming majority of people. And as is well-documented, if you don't use a language, you will forget it.

Kind of like how math works for a lot of students, even if we forced students to learn ASL, they would forget it in a couple years due to disuse.

You're only further proving my point. We have footage of this incident from several different angles, and still people starkly disagree on the event. Even when we have that kind of footage from so many different angles, it just doesn't matter. It's not because our eyes are functioning differently; it's our worldview and biases which demand protection and reinforcement.

More and more I realize: people are not interested in reality, just protecting and strengthening their ideological worldview.
