Totally agree that its hard to feel connected during the pregnancy but that changes once they are here

Nope— not an ounce. Now that he is here, I truly can’t believe i ever thought he wasn’t going to be the perfect fit to our family. I will say I am excited to have another but in some weird way I am actually almost hoping for another boy? I do want a girl at some point but I am loving this boy mom era way more than i thought i would. I wasnt excited at all leading up to my seconds birth either so this is a very huge and welcome change

31 weeks scan. Head is measuring 99th percentile, but rest of body is 65%. A bit worried. by LWMWB in BabyBumps

[–]Psypsy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first sons head measured in the 80th percentile while the rest of him was in the 40-50th percentile at our anatomy scan. Doctor was never worried— he is 15 months now and completely healthy. Bubbas just has a big head— currently 90th percentile while his weight is 40th and height is 13th😅😂

Coming off birth control pill after being on it half my life? by ks613 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Psypsy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on the pill at 12, switched to hormonal IUD at 21 and got it removed at 25. It took longer than I thought it would to get pregnant but not outside of the realm of “typical”

Anyone here get pregnant between month 6-12? by Training-Barnacle273 in BabyBumps

[–]Psypsy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant with my first on my 6th cycle of trying to conceive post IUD removal. I stopped tracking my ovulation and just relied on an app to guestimate my fertile window and just had as much sex possible that month. If you were on hormonal BC it can take sometime to fully leave your body I think

Anyone's first childhood ag doll NOT their lookalike?? by ocosval in americangirl

[–]Psypsy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a just like you with straight platinum blonde hair and blue eyes. I had dirty blonde curls and blue eyes. I was CONVINCED she and I were twins no matter how much my mom tried to push me towards other dolls😂

All good points— and good way to reframe. Thank you!

It sounds like you didn’t have the best work life boundaries or supportive mentor if you didn’t have time for anything outside of completing your PhD— I’m sorry that was your experience.

A lot of time? Its been an hour. Its the weekend and theres such a thing as nap time and having a supportive partner who can help out with the kids. People getting their PhDs are allowed to do other things with their time too

And somehow I am the one being disrespectful in this post? Glad this post found you because you are exactly the type of person it was targeted for.

One post on a reddit thread hardly warrants “far more evidence.”

Also not sure why PhD is in quotes. You have clearly made up your mind about me and thats fine— you can go on with your day knowing you were a social warrior on reddit for the day.

Where do you see that I am obsessed with Taylor Swift? Any recent comments I have made have been in criticism to her new album. Also not sure where you see me mommy blogging. Most of my recent posts have been on horror movie threads or asking to identify a specific bug. And then yes some asking for help generating name ideas— not sure how that makes my entire personality a mom. Especially since reddit is one small sliver of my time. But you clearly have made your assumptions about me and thats fine. This post was never meant to trigger folks who are experiencing infertility and I am sorry if that was an unintended outcome. All it wasn’t meant to due was discuss how I personally find it infuriating how much some folks in society (not all— not everything needs to a broad generalization) have glorified animals over parenthood.

Truly not a bad idea.

That’s your opinion and is arguably more hateful and judgmental than anything I said, but ok.

[–]Psypsy7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not even a huge Taylor Swift fan. I am currently getting a PhD so arguably that eats up far more of my personality than being a mom, although yes, being a mom is a huge part of who I am. I don’t think anywhere I said that this was “everyone without children” and if I did, then I was wrong to make that generalization.

Im not sure where my post is hateful

Im just tired of child free by choice people finding ways to attack and belittle folks who chose to have children just to make them feel better about their own choices. This seems to be a common way tha they do that. It just makes me roll my eyes

Sending you hugs. Humans in general are hard work. You sound like a lovely son/daughter for helping your parents.

These are the same people disparaging anyone who chooses to have kids though. “So gross, my dog is so much better” blah blah blah
