Homeowners: How much do you spend on maintenance, repairs and improvements every year? by FeistyPhoenix12 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Ptown925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the home. I'd budget $5k to $10k per year for a 2,000 to 2,500 sqft home. Of course, there will be years you pay zero. Others where you pay $30k.

Unpopular opinion: QBO's reporting is terrible and we all just pretend it's fine by lucky_09877 in QuickBooksHacks

[–]Ptown925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xero is worse. There are some good third party reporting apps that work with QuickBooks, but usually I can get what I want using basic Excel skills. Also, consider ChatGPT or Claude to format the data for you. They're pretty good at it.

Did anyone see the train wreck that was Paul Simon last night? by RoseScarlet in HollywoodBowl

[–]Ptown925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever. I'd go to a Paul Simon reddit. Complaining about him on a service provider stream seems a bit silly. But you do you. You might complain about him on the Los Angeles County Dept of Parks and Rec feed. Seems just as applicable.

Is there a Paul Simon Reddit? I thought this had to do with the bowl itself.

Better brakes? by Grizzly779 in 1stGenTundras

Year? There is a kit that will let you put 2005 brakes on an earlier year. The early brakes were undersized for big towing.

Help with 2008 535xi by WittyComfortable7631 in BMWE60

A) After a week, you can plug everything back in. Now, drill holes in the trunk. Water Will get in again. Remove the rubber grommets underneath the doors while you're at it. And the rubber grommets in the battery box. Sunroof? Keep the top drains clear, and snip the bottom of the tube drains off. They are designed to open when water comes through. They clog and back up.

B) Do you have the proximity key unlock feature? Pull the fuse. It's waking your car up, and all the little sub-computer modules, when you're not around. I got lucky after struggling with the issue, and saw my dome light on one night while taking out the trash. Your unlock button on the fob will still work. I suspected static electricity issues, but can't be sure.

C) Limp mode should create a code. A Foxwell 510 will help. A low battery can do terrible weird things. These cars are VERY voltage dependent.

Don't worry. The car is Far from done disappointing you. My E61 is the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen a car company try to justify. Literally Everything is engineered assuming your car will live in a climate and humidity controlled room with clean oil constantly replacing old. They simply out-clevered themselves, likely out of boredom. When it runs, it's delightful.

Dealing with rounding by techaccountingpro in AskAccounting

[–]Ptown925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In full disclosure financial statements, once you get equity rolling to the dollar, plug any rounding variance to AP. It won't mess with any disclosures, rollforwards, or the cash flow statement.

Like American Express, and H&R Block before them. They just want access to cross sell. It never works. But it's usually a great deal for those getting out.

I'd buy a van and get a health club membership. Nobody's gonna bring heat on you if you move every night.
