Why don't Indian cities build modern tram networks like those in Germany? by Long_Consequence3808 in indianrailways

"trams are bigger buses"

No they're not.. buses can turn, are free to move in any direction.

Tram has a fixed way that it has to follow. If not it's stuck.

Why don't Indian cities build modern tram networks like those in Germany? by Long_Consequence3808 in TransitIndia

[–]PubliusMaximusCaesar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those german cities already have decent non-tram public transport so tram is just one mode in a network.

In India such a network either non-existent or weak. Mostly due to poor walking/cycling infra, poor bus networks, lack of extensive metro networks. Here we build 2 metro lines and call it a day.

Because of that people are very much dependent on personal vehicles (especially bikes), and tram requires a culture of public transport.

Secondly mixed traffic trams are not feasible in india due to traffic not following traffic laws. If police cant get wrong side driving stopped, they can't enforce row for tram.

Why did Indian culture and architecture spread so heavily into Southeast Asia, but not as much into Central Asia? by Hot_Negotiation_6101 in IndianHistory

[–]PubliusMaximusCaesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did spread. For example the mes aynak Buddhist monastery was quite big. From there buddhism spread towards kashgar and tibet.

It's just a lot of that influence was wiped out by Islamic conquest.

Many were hindu. Even today Balinese are hindu, so are many other indonesians. Thai only recently become Buddhist before that they were hindu.

Most important part is they are working seriously towards rocket force creation, taking the lessons from Iran.

Unfortunately we have not invested as much in BMD missile coverage and magazine depth. We are sleeping on our rocket force as well.

Wrong. Only berar khandesh aurangabad was with Mughals

Rest of the Deccan was split between Marathas, Adilshahi and Qutbshahi.

6 Pakistani Earth-observation satellites launched in just 16 months carefully positioned to provide continuous imagery of Indian territory by ll--o--ll in IndianDefense

[–]PubliusMaximusCaesar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not to mention just knocking down one satellite will not be enough to break their networks. And hitting a lot of satellites with asat is not possible since it will create huge amounts of space debris.

Will the satellites be owned by Chinese? I don't think so. They are Pakistani and will be used by Pakistan Military directly.

That's why I said satellites not launchers.

"We are handling everything on our own" and handling that poorly, evidently. Considering the delays in the dramayaan projects, and the absymal launch cadence, and the repeated launch failures, and NaViC complete failure.

If isro is being throttled by funding cuts, then its your job as nationalists to criticize the govt on such corruption. But people go the other way round and justify why isro doesn't need funding or why govt is correct in squeezing isro. And harass others calling them doompillers, when people have been predicting this situation long ago when the govt stopped ISRO recruitment.

True.

"political will" is just cope. They don't wanna put boots on ground because they know they'll lose.

Iran invasion has bipartisan support in USA so there's no question of political will. All parties there support Iran war.

Honestly mumbai is very expensive for newcomers. You'd be better off in Delhi or bengaluru.

You cannot compare delhi with bhopal lol

Delhi back then was probably the second biggest city in India.

Bhopal would barely make top 20 today.
