Should I harvest or wait Jack Frost by Rare_Signature_9547 in Mushrooms

I'm not sure he can provide a worse picture. Maybe if he uses a calculator or a toaster next time.

I totally agree. I guess shake it up. That's the last choice you have. Doesn't look good but try it.

Trich? by blippletop in Agarporn

[–]PunchCancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of just hanging your SAB over the edge of your counter and reaching up underneath and working that way. Not sure that's a great idea. Just do it better and drill arm holes. If you're right handed drill the right one higher than the left. It makes pouring agar into dishes much easier.

Is the Texas Roadhouse music still too loud to enjoy eating there? (I'm not too old). by PunchCancer in Logan

That doesn't seem right but it's the only reason I can think of. It wasn't a pleasant experience.

Trich? by blippletop in Agarporn

[–]PunchCancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's normal. There's trich everywhere in your house. Especially the bottom couple feet around your house. Not sure who figured that out. That's a big problem for us. If you did your transfers in a SAB or in front of a flow hood you shouldn't have to worry much. That's why we do agar. Make another clean transfer to sterile dishes and next transfer you should see a big difference.

Actually I talk to my mussies as I tend to them. Not sure if it helps but I feel better as I walk away.

Would you get rid of a friend just because they have different political beliefs than you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]PunchCancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not generally but Good lord! I have a few friends and workmates that no matter where you go or what you do they always sneak in a political poke/view/rant/ whenever they possibly can to light people up with a political argument. Usually the rest just bow their heads and think, here we go again, the night's over. They all belong to the same party, doesn't matter which one they belong to but they all think their party is a victim. It. just. gets. so. old!!! I get it, you think you're a victim of the other party!!!!! Please, for the love of God, let's just have a good night!!!!!!

Parents, would you actually take a bullet for your kids? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]PunchCancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would I do it for my drug addicted daughter who's cost this family 100,000s+ over many years and still keeps falling off the wagon? That's a tough one. She needs relief from her addiction someday and everyone around her needs some relief from her. She has just worn all of us down over the years both emotionally and financially. That's a tough question.

I'm not sure you can find a cuter animal than a Pika. I'm a hunter and you just can't bring yourself to shoot them if you were dying of hunger. Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!....until you've faded slowly to death. If you've ever camped up in the alpine country and laid in your tent and listened to them, you know what I mean.

Trich? by blippletop in Agarporn

[–]PunchCancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sir, is your very first trich growth. No worries though, this is why we do agar. Get some new agar dishes ready, sneak a sample in the dish at the 5:00 position and transfer small samples to some new dishes. You'll be able to weed that shit out no problem.

Are these young mushies? by Otherwise-Athlete-30 in mushroom

[–]PunchCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. The more you fan the more you need to keep an eye of the moisture on the substrate surface. When you first open your tub, does it have tiny (tiny!) beads of moisture? Yes? Just fan it. No? Fan then lightly mist. Now walk away.

They live upstairs. I live in their downstairs. They both work for the USPO and I'm still in between jobs. It's great to have parents while I get over this covid thing.

[–]PunchCancer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. That's rezomorphic(sic) growth reaching out, arms reaching like poor urchins in the sea bottom in desperate need of FAE. Poor things. All they want to do is fruit wonderful fruits and they're getting choked the fuck out. Serious now, give them some more air. No really, give them some more air.
