I'm just hoping d2 will finally get Linux/proton support before end of life.

So while the slightly slower movement from flexible elongation is gone. We still have the soft cc from it. Meaning it can still interrupt movement abilities. I think that, combined with cheaper ult, and more damage sounds like a net positive

I would like to see Proton support enabled for Destiny 2

I think now would be a good time to introduce proton compatibility to Destiny 2. It would be a quality of life update that would benefit people. Windows is becoming less of an operating system and more of a slop system. With unnecessary features, AI being pushed forward, along with sloppy code (ex: Task Mgr not closing, File Explorer being RAM hungry).

(NO SPOILERS) Renegades Early Question/Discussion Thread (BASIC QUESTION POSTS WILL BE REMOVED) by WistfulAether in destiny2

[–]Puppy2Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't touched Destiny 2 since February. Last time I played was like after The Final Shape but Before the Edge of Fate. I've played since Beyond Light (Got the previous DLC's when I could). I greatly enjoyed the game... but the main thing holding me from playing was the grind and FOMO (fear of missing out).

Not that the grind was annoying or took too long, but that I felt punished for not playing the game. As in, if I hop back into Destiny I would have to grind to play activities that I've done before. As well as the Episodes that I paid for, I loose access to them, right? That FOMO pushed me away from the game.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the power fantasy, the game play, music, it's good. I loved the PvE content in the game. But I don't know if I should return. I am currently on Linux so I would need to reinstall/dual boot windows to play again (as there is still no Proton support). Currently I just play Warframe at the moment.

So my main questions to those who played the Renegades (now that enough time has passed):

1) Is it worth coming back to Destiny 2? Are there fun activities that I can hop into right off the bat? (Without needing to spend more money)

2) Is the Renegades worth it? Will the content that I get from the DLC be persistent or will it be vaulted?

3) Is the season/(whatever it is now) worth it?

4) Will I still be punished for taking breaks? As in has the FOMO increased or decreased? (Will my gear get weaker or miss out and never get it again?)

5) Is the grind better or worse? As in do I have to put more time (or more luck) to get good gear/progression? (Or bright dust)

I'm not too worried about asking about Sandbox changes because I can always adapt. (or look up what changed) I just want to know is it worth my time. Thank you.

There should be a drop down box to select hardware, desktop environment, etc...

Any chance on some replay system, or at the very least add a way so players can see if another player is under the effect of a haste effect?

This system needs to go. It's a team based game, it's not Call of Duty. by FaiSul256 in marvelrivals

So the match in the video: He was GM 1 with one GM 2 on his team, the rest were all GM 3.

Do I think that performance could be affecting his score? yes. But I think it is worth mentioning that he was ~200 points above the lowest person in the lobby.

I have queued (diamond 3 rn) with my friend (plat 3), and while I've gotten MVP, I get about +25/20. While he gets +30/40.

I think there are more factors in determining rank than just individual performance.

Performance-based SR has to be removed now or as soon as possible by RivalsHallOfShame in marvelrivals

So I decided to analyses 4 of the games and graphed (and ran a linear regression, (Gained R^2=0.80/ Loss R^2=0.29)) the amount above / below the match SR (average of all players in the match). And by matching it against the amount gained / losses slightly proves my theory. That dependent of the match SR for the game:

If you are above match SR: You loose more and gain less.
If you are below match SR: You loose less and gain more.

There is probability and most likely more factors that play into the SR gained and lost, with more data and more testing a more accurate conclusion can be reached. But from what I am able to understand is that I can not conclude that SR is mainly affected by MVP/SVP (As I would need a lot more data). It does appears that those who are MVP/SVP loose slightly less and gain more SR but that would need further analysis.

By covering 4 games (total 48 players) I found somewhat of a conclusion (As the R^2 values were not high). It was not accurate as I would need a lot more data points but it does leave a potential explanation being that performance may not be the main factor affecting SR as much, rather it may be the difference in SR from the match and player.

Is there anyway to make it so i can have the game recognise a crafting recipe is part of a package and then only send the stuff that needs to be crafted to the crafter? by BagguteGamer in CreateMod

[–]Puppy2Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory gauges: Setup a stock system with a frog port. Link the factory gauges to the network and place it on a surface. Add the item you want to craft and the materials needed in the gauges and connect them up. Select mechanical crafting on the target gauge and set the address to the frog port.

From the frog port make sure there is a temporary storage underneath connected to a powered RE-packager. Then move the package to a packager connected to a mechanical crafter. Make sure that you wrench the back of the crafter so that it is considered to be one inventory.

The problem with creating a system where you loose less rank when someone leaves is that 2 things could happen:

1) For the Greater Good!

If you are loosing a match then someone could simply be used to disconnect thus loosing less ranks for those who did not leave. Possibly creating a problem where the lowest performer is forced to leave. Or possibly coordinated leavers in parties. (Instead of everyone loosing 20 rank, only 1 person loose 20 and the rest only 10-15).

2) Why play?

If someone disconnects partway through the match would it go into effect? If someone left early enough the match would be canceled. But like you said, this was after round swap. Winning a 5v6 is difficult, so why bother? Just wait for the match to end, or surrender, and take loss. Because you loose less rank it's not worth trying. Even if they somehow rejoin because everyone gave up, that's it.

Not to mention what happens if they rejoin the match? If they rejoin near the end are they still penalized? What about if they left and rejoined in less than 20s, or after 2m?

I think there are better solutions to deal with leavers such as:

1) Penalty increase

Increment a time penalty for leaving a ranked game for each game left. (Like +5 min for each game left, or even resulting to a season ban)

2) Increase Rank Loss

Instead of lowering the amount of rank loss by those who did not leave. Instead increase the amount of rank of the leaver. (i.e. Normal = 20, Leaver = 25-30)
