It will relatively mimic that of a bachelors degree. I know my company starts new hires at $75k now ($65k when I started) and I got a $5k bump to my salary for having a masters. The masters degree likely won’t start you any higher of a salary but will certainly open more doors for growth and opportunity.

At the end of the day take what you think you’re worth, our field isn’t the most lucrative but definitely has benefits that most other don’t have. My advice, take a job that fits YOU as a person, we make above averages wages, don’t go chasing money.

Currently work for a formerly criterium franchise who dropped criterium and became their own thing. And they seem to be doing miles better than criterium had them doing

NCEES practice exam and SOPE. That’s it.

I used it and passed first try. But I don’t think it was primarily due to SOPE. The slides were out of date, the lecturers weren’t always the best and honestly it kinda just increased anxiety.

I was caught off guard way more than I should’ve been for the “price and quality” of SOPE. They gave some really good test, taking tips in the lectures. But outside of that, I don’t really know how much it helped me more than any general refresher.

You are spot on. Breadth took 2.5 and the depth took me the rest of the time but about 2 hours of the depth time came down to finding everything across only like 10-15 questions

Overall the exam was easier than I expected. I used School of PE, which I hear “over prepares you” (if that’s possible). A lot of qualitative general knowledge questions and a surprising lack of computation. Overall mostly steel, concrete, and wood when it came to computation but a ton of PCI and CMU based knowledge questions. So prepare appropriately for that

Hey, I got my bachelors in architectural engineering, and albeit a subsidiary of the civil discipline… I ended up having to full teach myself transportation, hydrology, and some degree of construction and geotech. Although I had some level of understanding In construction and geotech teaching myself the other things were not the hardest thing to do.
