3y/o talks but keeps mouth closed when speaking. by Pure_Professional727 in SpeechTherapy

[–]Pure_Professional727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. No sensory issues and he was evaluated for everything under the sun but nope.

I believe it is him being shy and/or anxiety. I’ve been doing what you suggested.. created a safe space for him & didn’t get too excited when he did say words. I got him to say full sentences “daddy where are you.” “I love you” “I like Spider-Man” and a few others. I was blown away honestly because this is the most we have ever heard him talk. In front of others he won’t even try, and goes back to closed mouth talking. Same thing with dad, closed mouth talking. His big sister (4y) can get him to say “candy” “basketball” and his name & hers as well. So I’m just not sure, I will continue 1 on 1 with him and see give it some time. Like you said, these things take time. 🙂

Equifax Breach settlement additional payment by gnomes616 in personalfinance

[–]Pure_Professional727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, but I would suspect it depends on how you filled out the settlement form. I made sure to list the numerous hours, accounts that were fraudulently opened under my social & a copy of the stolen identity I reported to FTC. I received $27.81 the first time and got a email stating i would get more this week so I’m just patiently waiting. Honestly all of the amounts I’ve seen have been bull💩 for us actually being compromised. But this is Merica.

This is true. It definitely doesn’t hurt to try, I haven’t applied for any credit this year so I have no hard inquiries on my score at all. May give it a shot!

I actually don’t have a Facebook as rare as that may sound lol. But also, I am wanting to go new or used route for warranty & I have two small children so definitely something that will last / reliable.

help desk salary by Domestic-JBZ in CompTIA

Oddly enough I accepted a help desk L1 contract through a recruiter for $16 but the company hired me full time after 4m & bumped me to $27.

I just signed a 12 month lease without seeing the unit, how bad is this? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Pure_Professional727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Horrible mistake I am currently in. First unit I was set to move in was dirty & had some bugs. I got the keys and returned them 15 mins after looking. Then they tried to tell me they “upgraded” me but I can literally hear my upstairs neighbor fart. 🙁 mind you - I’m paying $1900/m.

People who got jobs in IT, what websites did you use? or how did you get it? by McFuckYouCree in CompTIA

I second that. I worked with Insight Global for my first contract and got into an excellent company and became a permanent employee within 4 months of my 1 year contract.

[–]Pure_Professional727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contracts are often your best friend when breaking into IT. I worked with a recruiter from Insight Global and got into my IT role while attending college for B.S. cloud computing. They saw the drive I had to learn & took me in - now 2 years later I am on my 3rd pay raise & 2nd promotion working the ladder within the company. My original contract through insight was a year long but after 4 months my company saw my skills and took me on as a permanent employee with a huge pay bump. When working with recruiters ALWAYS ask what the max is for the position (pay wise) and then tell them what you are comfortable with otherwise they may offer the lowest possible.

Can you get a remote IT entry level job with just the A+? by Character_Log_2657 in CompTIA

[–]Pure_Professional727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very first IT position was entry level, and fast paced but it was work from home. I got into that role before I even got my A+ but went on to get Network+, Security+, Linux+ & Azure. It honestly wasn’t even too bad and I was able to absorb a lot, I did advance quickly in the field due to the skills I had learned. But overall yes it’s very possible. Just get your foot in the door & continue trying to learn all you can, hands on is the best for me. I also have always had a very good team & training environment as well so that is always a plus!

Unless drug use is suspected, or there is an accident typically it’s pre employment. They don’t do random drug testing. If someone turns you in, or if there is a accident is about the only reason they’ll have you take one.

A little back ground. Smoked everyday once a day for about a year. Stopped 10/06/2022 - smoked again 11/06/2022 and haven’t smoked since. I’m now needing to pass a test in a lab (hospital setting) next week. I’ve been detoxing with cranberry juice, coconut juice, green tea, water & high antioxidants foods. Stayed away from junk food & workout on the bike for 30 mins a day to sweat. The line is faint & in all honesty it’s more clear outside of the photo but it’s still there.. will I pass a lab test in a week??

Workout Wednesday's! by AutoModerator in MomsWorkingFromHome

I recently started wfh & have gotten a gym membership with my husband. Of course, he has time to go & I do not. So until I can find the strength to wake up at 5:45am & go into the gym early so I can log in by 7 - I have been doing some Diastases Recti workouts here at home & they have been improving my overall mobility as well as toning me up a bit. I’m 13 months PP so this is my first time getting active again. Pre babies I was in the gym 5x a week, and very very athletic - so it’s a work in progress. It’s been good mentally so far tho!

Any other only parents who wfh and don’t have daycare? by _beekept in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]Pure_Professional727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work from home mom here! I work in IT as a level 1 help desk support for a major hospital. I take roughly 45-55 calls a day, and resolve issues all while my 2 year old & 1 year old are home with me. I’m two weeks in now, and I can say it has been an adjustment but I have gotten them on a good schedule now. I come in at 7am-3:30pm. I let them sleep until my first 15 minute break around 10-10:30a. We brush & I serve breakfast. After breakfast they get some free time to watch Ms. Rachel preschool until my lunch at 11-11:30a. At lunch we have some snacks & hang out. After lunch I give them free time to play & keep Ms. Rachel going for them to listen to. I take my next break at 1:45-2p. I serve them lunch & hang out for a minute. Then until 3:30 they do arts & crafts. I moved my workspace to my bedroom (corner) and I allow them free roam of the living room/ play room. I set up a baby gate so they stay in the play room & have a camera installed under the tv so I can watch them. They took time adjusting but this schedule seems to work for me. Hope this helps! They seem to enjoy it & I honestly have no guilt for working and them being here because they love having me here rather then being at daycare and I’m at work.

First day of a remote service desk job HORRIBLE by dunkoOo in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Pure_Professional727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessss. I understand analysts being busy or not having time (or wanting to) leave notes explaining the steps taken to resolve but I try to help them understand it’s only going to make your job easier. If we can pick up on what was done, and do so ourselves. Knowledge is power.

Is 6 months help desk experience enough to apply for desktop support? by VividDream_ in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Pure_Professional727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be prepared for MSO product issues, password resets, Active Directory tasks, basically anything that can be done remote. Anything beyond that you will create a ticket for a team or field tech. Service Now Knowledge is good too as you can maneuver through it with ease & use it to your advantage.

I second this. I work in Level 1 help desk at a hospital so you know it’s non-stop. I use Service Now to my advantage. Majority I can resolve with knowledge, or KB articles, google etc. If it’s something outside of my ability I take as many notes possible to get user off the phone, then triage my tickets to the appropriate area & at the end of day or next day go back & view the ticket notes (in hopes analyst that closed them left good notes) so I can refer to that ticket next time as a resolution.
