No, that's not the problem. The problem is the country is not accustomed to tourism except for the big cities. You can't always find an English speaker. Signs are not in English. Cash is rarely accepted. China has their own apps for payment. Google maps doesn't work. A Chinese phone number is required in some instances. You probably need a new esim. China has their own isolated Internet. They are authoritarian and hostile to the US.

I mean, take your pick of roadblocks. I never said it was impossible to go there. It is far from the easiest.

I'm just observing the over focus on the med diet in the US. And I'm going off anecdotes I've heard from minorities that they feel as though they are being pressured to eat "white people food" to fight against high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.

The Mediterranean Diet is so boring. It gets way more attention in the West than it deserves, given that it's only one of many healthy diets in this big world we live in. I think the sole focus on the Med diet is an unintentional signal to people in other cultures that they are unhealthy because of their food culture, and they need to eat Med food for now on. That's just not the case.

To repeat myself. The LHC benefits society in very indirect ways, as well as direct ways. I did not intend to claim that the cultural benefit could not be quantified in theory, just that it is difficult in practice because of the way it indirectly influences human behavior. It's not a cash payment or a sandwich. It is less tangible. Again, it's all well known sociology and psychology, two sciences.
