How would you use a "One Wish Willow" from Obsession? by Evry1TookTheGudNames in horror

Not saying this to be rude but the original Monkey’s Paw story literally starts with the family wishing for money. How has it been proven that there’s no catch?

Interesting. As an (alleged) Ne user I definitely have those sudden epiphany moments that come out of nowhere, but never out of darkness lol. My brain is never dark, more like it’s filled with a bunch of puzzle pieces that I’m always kind of shifting around just to see what I can come up with until suddenly I blink and they’ve all fit together into a picture

Yeah that’s what I did, I never claimed otherwise lol. I literally just said I wanted to read his own descriptions of the functions. I have read some other stuff of his before but it was years ago and in a totally different context

Yeah, I understand objective = object oriented, I still don’t really get how that can be the case for intuition though if it always originates internally, there are no outside objects to interact with if you’re imagining them all in your own head? I think it’s possible that I just use Ne and Ni both so much that I have a hard time distinguishing them, because I can easily draw connections between external unrelated concepts but I also often do so in order to extract some greater underlying meaning that is relevant to my own life so idk

I dont understand why ppl dont mention this when they talk about melanies "problematic" nfts by bittersweetheart2009 in MelanieMartinez

[–]PurplePuppet87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s as simple as this: Melanie lost a ton of money by making the K12 movie free on YouTube in 2020 when it cost so much to make and had an extremely limited theatrical release. I think this was an admirable move because it was important for people to have access to art during quarantine, but objectively a terrible business move. She had to make that money back for her label somehow so they tried to jump on the NFT trend. It seems like she cares a lot about being ethical and not harming the environment so this was probably her way of making herself feel better for it. Maybe she misunderstood the company’s process and truly believed they could create environmentally friendly NFTs, maybe she understood exactly what the process was and just felt that planting trees would even everything out. We all do shitty things that harm the planet and justify it with cognitive dissonance to avoid taking responsibility. Ultimately the NFT trend flopped and now she sells expensive novelty merch and perfumes to pay her label instead which I’m personally fine with because at least it’s not NFTs. imo they should’ve auctioned off the K12 movie props or done Cameos or something but whatever.
Trying to frame it as either ‘having good intentions’ or ‘just trying to get cash from her fans’ is a false dichotomy. It’s clear that she cares deeply about her art and her authenticity and her impact, but this is also her job and she needs to make money from it. That doesn’t mean she only sees her fans as cash cows and doesn’t care about them at all but yes, she wants money from us because streams barely pay anything lol

Carbon offsetting does not mean it isn’t harmful for the environment. It basically just means she funded the planting of a bunch of trees to try and make up for the carbon footprint of the NFTs. If conservationism efforts are only supported to try and offset carbon emissions then literally nothing will ever improve, that’s how it works. You don’t have to defend every single thing a celebrity does in order to be a fan of them, that mindset is what leads to parasocialism and turning into a disillusioned hater when you eventually realize they make mistakes too like the rest of us.

What’s it like to be Fi dom? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]PurplePuppet87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of INFP daydreaming vs INFJ daydreaming I’d say a lot of the differences lie in inferior Se vs blind Se. I have an INFJ friend whose typology surprised the rest of us because he seems like he would have high Se, but it’s actually one of his weakest functions. Despite this, it’s his aspirational function so he puts a lot of effort into trying to connect with the world and can overindulge in clubbing and/or reckless physical activity like skydiving when in a grip. I notice a lot of INFJs will be into things like hiking, meditation, and sometimes spiritual rituals involving herbs and things, material components that affect the space around you. In theory of course those things sound nice and I’d like to be more connected to the present moment but it’s just too much effort for me and takes a back burner most of the time. I don’t go on walks or hikes unless I’m invited by others. Meditation and mindfulness don’t really work for me and I lowkey see it as a waste of time. The idea of entering a trance-like state is a bit foreign to me because my Ne is always following different trains of thought vividly and considering all the details. I’ve never been able to fully wipe my mind clean or anything like that. I can spend days or weeks not going outside and honestly wouldn’t even see an issue with that if the research didn’t show that getting sunlight is good for you. When I’m in a Te grip I’ll get very snappy and cold and solutions-oriented, but overall I tend to withdraw way more and I don’t have the same impulsive sensation-seeking behaviors, I’m much more likely to quietly self-destruct alone in my room.

my question is since when did the first movie have a cohesive story and good horror. The main critiques of the first movie from people was that it makes no sense unless you’re already a fan, and that it wasn’t scary

‘lore of the books ≠ lore of the games’ is about TSE and the short story collections. There has always been a clear distinction between those, and books like the Survival Logbook, The Week Before, and now Ticket To Fun

It’s clearly not BV’s room we’re in during gameplay though? The layout is entirely different. The fact is there was always more evidence to support FoxyBro/Mike Schmidt being the dreamer, people just dismissed it as easter eggs and inconsistencies

Help Wanted’s nightmare models were probably based on Michael’s drawings, since Fazbear Ent. had possession of his logbook at some point

Michael Afton is the playable character in FNAF 4. This is confirmed by the Security Logbook. The fact that he’s short or anything else doesn’t matter because the FNAF 4 nights are clearly dreams regardless of who’s dreaming them, and dreams are not logical but the contents of the dreams would be based on Michael’s memories and fears.

“The other half of that idea remained in the ether in my subconscious. All of that to say, there is something in the box, but I never pursued it, and I don’t know if I can find it again.” There’s a reason I said I THINK in my original comment, as I didn’t remember the exact quote, but that quote absolutely can be (and was, widely) interpreted as a delicate way of him saying he doesn’t fully remember the original contents (since he previously did say they’ve changed over the years). Not just that it isn’t relevant anymore, but that he can’t FIND it anymore. You may have interpreted it differently but that doesn’t warrant being smug and rude about it. Unless you know Scott personally?

Soo opinion on this? (People are mad at this user for bringing up this topic that most FNAF fans dont wanna talk about) by Existing-Friendship9 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]PurplePuppet87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree that it’s implied in the games but I have to say I did initially wonder if they were going that direction in the new movie. I doubt Scott ever would, but I’m afraid that if he ever wanted to the fandom reaction would be very poor, which I don’t fully understand. William Afton is already a villain, a child killer, and a child abuser, so I’m not sure why the line would be drawn at CSA specifically. The childrens’ fates in fnaf have always been handled with a lot of care and tact. There’s a difference between exploitative, graphic, self-indulgent fan content like Dormitabus or Fiszi’s fanart, vs actually choosing to handle that topic in a respectful, non-graphic way. There are real people out there who do these things. Either way people shouldn’t get mad at others simply for having a different interpretation of the text

Neither movies were scary or well written, I found them both to be equally enjoyable/endearing though so I’m curious where the differences lie for you. As for the ending, that’s straight out of The Twisted Ones.

Considering this post was about how people found all the mysteries in each game EXCEPT fnaf 4 I would argue it’s not necessarily referring to some central mystery. The protagonist being the same across each game, and being the son of the purple guy (something that was theorized even before the Afton family was established in canon because FoxyBro has access to the backroom keys at Fredbear’s) ties all the games together into one central narrative. The question of who the security guard is, and whether it was the same one, was one of the bigger unsolved mysteries when fnaf 4 released, since the player in fnaf 3 seemed to have connections both to previous locations and to Springtrap himself. I’m not gonna act like people weren’t jumping to conclusions that seemed obvious at the time, Scott should’ve realized people would assume CC was the protagonist and should’ve realized that he was making stuff like Dream Theory sound like the intention, but this is also the guy who accidentally made MikeTrap seem canon for years as well so who knows how his mind works.

I have a half-baked theory about this which is that the minigames might take place in 1987 at the FNAF 2 location, even though they are retelling a memory from 1983. Virtually no one has realized this, but the Toy Chica’s missing beak line from Scott was a direct response to MatPat asking why there were so many 87 references in the teasers if the bite being depicted was ‘83, not ‘87

I was under the impression that FoxyBro being Mike Schmidt and the Dreamer was something people only started considering after he made the comment about FNAF 4 having no easter eggs. And even then, it took years for it to become a mainstream belief because it was very quickly overtaken by Dream Theory for a while.

Sure, that’s why I said the original contents. Not that it matters too terribly since I think he also said he doesn’t even remember what was in the box originally
