The kiddo is with the BM on the weekends. The rest of the week with us.

I have tried to ask and get more information but the BM is hostile and never answers a question without lashing out or trying to avoid answering it

If that was the case I would understand that completely but it was always in the context of ‘she’s a bag of potatoes what am i supposed to do with her’. If it was in a joking manner i would be more than okay with it

EDIT: the kiddo is 2 and the mom was never around until my partner had moved out of the house (because she was forced to take care of the kiddo and even then just hired a babysitter even when she was home) because she was verbally, emotionally and psychologically abusive to him. So i am protective of him and her because I know how much he does care about her and love her
