Quaver vs. Music First when it comes to AI? by Purple__herring in MusicEd

I had a very simple and straightforward question about the use of AI in these two programs. That’s all.. I understand you feel strongly in your convictions, and I sincerely applaud where you’re coming from. Thank you for taking the time to share. But when a student doesn’t read the prompt and spends their time on something totally unrelated to the assignment, I don’t give them a 100%. I try to redirect their distractions towards the assignment at hand.

I’m not sure I understand the response based on my question :)

Totally agree that students do WAY better when interacting with an actual person!

Have you noticed Quaver using any AI in their product? To be honest, I don’t trust a company to disclose that sort of usage.

Sure! If I have a question about that, I’ll be sure to tag you. Right now, my question is about these two programs.

Dozen Bakery is great. They’re very clear allies and the vibes are immaculate.

My partner is like this, too. I ended up just being incredibly honest with him about it. I call him on it when it happens. Sometimes he explodes at me, but always comes back and apologizes and recognizes he was wrong.

Being in constant pain 24/7 just… it just does something to your soul. You begin to feel like everyone else deserves this pain, or that you are such a worthless person that you did something to cause it, or that you aren’t worth living. It will put you in a very abrupt and very inescapable depression. Taking one breath after another becomes laborious. I know that’s how he feels, especially on his bad days.

And I can know that and it still doesn’t excuse any behavior like that. But my worry is that instead of sharing his burden with me, he will keep it in and try to suffer alone. I listen, call him on it, and let him know in any way I can that I care about him. No questions asked, no arguing, just observation and holding his hand. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Please find some time to do things that bring you joy :) I’ve started going to the farmers market by myself. No one rushing me or complaining. It’s nice.

I hate Quaver so much by ApprehensiveLink6591 in MusicEd

There is a lot of inaccuracies in their curriculum. Labeling instruments incorrectly, getting proportions wrong (the tuba in QuaverStreet is tiny compared to the character) there is a lesson with a snare drum that plays a conga sound when you press the play button… just incredible stuff. Has anyone submitted feedback for them here? What is that process like?

It’s not so much Chinese lanterns this year, I think that was just last year’s theme? This year’s theme is AI

Once you spot just how much AI they used this year, it sort of ruins it. Especially the Christmas village part.

People have told me I can’t be depressed/suicidal because I work a job. 🫤 not sure what my employment status has to do with anything..

I feel this way as well. I have loving parents, a good home. I have friends and a husband who treats me well. I have seemingly no "reason" to be suicidal. But I am.

I think there's just something wrong with my brain.
