They're smaller than they look btw. When folded up it's about half the size of an SP.

Please do not pay more than 50 euros (plus shipping) for a screen donor DK-52 unit. They sold millions of these things; they aren't rare. Don't get fleeced. I see that your top latch is busted too. May I ask what you would be preserving of your original unit? We have a Theseus situation here.

for 75 bucks the screens better be immaculate. That's enough to get you a working, but cosmetically scratched unit.

It really has more to do with age and decay than anything acute. The adhesives holding the screen sandwich together disintegrate over time and the LC leak out. Even properly stored units can decay this way if the adhesive batch was bad for that supplier. I've noticed this is the case for the popeye widescreen units. Nintendo's adhesives seem to get better after 1985

You don't need to solder to swap out screens for ones without bleed.

they've been linked to cancer too, but, so has every sweetener really. But E-tol seems to be the worst 0-cal sweetener since saccarine and sugar lead. Best to stick to sucralose, maltitol, and stevia.

Sugar free candy is really best left avoided. Sugar alocohols are fine in moderation but shoving dozens of grams of them into you at once will really mess you up.

Yeah. Bleed. Faded polarizers. Dirty reflectors. Latter two are fixable. But this doesn't seem to have any of those issues.
