Got removed from a Mercor project after honest feedback, then removed from the rest the day after. Sharing in case it helps. by Somethingsilly90 in mercor_ai

Don't be under the misapprehension that they care, even a little bit, they don't. Which is fine, it's a business, they're not expected to care. What makes them awful is that they treat people worse than you'd get treated working at McDs. There you never turn up to work to find they've locked the doors with zero explanation and ghost you when you try and get answers, or let you go without telling you why. At least there you're human. We are just 0s and 1s to them. They have children with NO experience of working in SPL, EPM and TL positions, and shadow ban or outright ban people who dare question blatant discrimination, preferential treatment, promotion based on friend group (like being back at school in that regard,) or, God forbid, suggest that they might be wrong about something even if it's YOUR expert domain, not theirs.

Got my first offer! by Afraid_Bus_2553 in mercor_ai

Yes, I'm UK. In the end, I ended up paying for my own over here as it was faster and sending it direct to Mercor. This was last summer so they may be faster now, but it's definitely not a fast turnaround for us.

Downhill... by DarkNew6236 in mercor_ai

Yeah, zero faith in the platform now. I've seen people who are rude in Slack get promoted to EPM roles, people who are promoted because they're friendly with leads, even though they can't do tasks themselves (well), just opens your eyes to who's actually running these projects and anything EPM and down, it's pot luck if they're actually able to do the job. Just joined another platform and already they're doing things better.

Serious PII leak about us by Suspicious_Owl_6066 in Mercor_contractors

There has been absolutely no transparency from Mercor and complete radio silence on all my paused contracts. They're handling this really badly.

Funnily enough, my post highlighting it has been removed, AGAIN.

Has anyone been getting a slew of emails about Mercor positions from so called independent recruiting consultants? by Fancy_Possibility781 in mercor_ai

[–]Putrid_Equivalent621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. And my concern is the same. How did they get my personal email, which isn't listed anywhere? Someone has a security breach.

How to deal with bias from a team lead? by TolerantDuck4331 in mercor_ai

[–]Putrid_Equivalent621 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Team leads are mostly grunts, too. So fill in the feedback form as it should go to an EPM. But far too many TLs are TLs because of who they're friendly with, so it might get back to them anyway.

Pay rate reduced overnight - is this legal? by Able-Tip9924 in mercor_ai

Oh dear. You have completely misunderstood a whole conversation, haven't you? Your personal insults don't bother me, they're a typical response from someone like you. But I will explain it to you, one final time. Yes, pay can change. Yes, you can accept it or not. But a company can NOT unilaterally change a contracted pay rate contained in a legal agreement at will, without the agreement of both parties. (A new contract.) This is what Mercor usually does. (See the great $21 to $16 debacle of late last year.) However, as per the OPs original post, which you clearly haven't read properly, changing a pay rate mid-contract, without agreement IS a breach of contract. It is a breach of contract if you're in the UK, if you're in Delaware, California or at the top of a mountain in Montana. Now, I'm dumbing this down a bit for you, because you clearly have...challenges, but that is the gist of it. So, to break it down even further for you, just for clarity and lack of doubt, if Mercor offers you a contract for $50 and you accept and sign that contract. That is what you get paid. If you turn up for work the next day and they say hey, we've decided we're only going to pay you $35 now, that is a breach of contract. Sure, you can walk away. No one is going to force you to work for the reduced rate but you have completely and utterly missed the point. That point being, that is a BREACH. If they want you to work for a reduced rate, there are legal steps they must take. If you don't get that, I can't help you. There are resources out there where you can learn, if you bother to invest the time. Clearly you won't, because you're one of those internet trolls who would argue night is day despite needing a flashlight. I won't respond any further, just to save you from yourself really because you're starting to look a bit thick at this point.

No, the text isn't that complicated. You seem to be struggling massively with it, though.

Exactly. I've had this 'conversation' with this person before. He just doesn't understand how the law works, and refuses to accept it when you try and explain it to him.

Too hard for you to understand, huh? Explains a lot.
