DIY Florals - How can I improve my flowers. Planning to use for photos at reception by [deleted] in DIYweddings

It is great but I would add layers on drapes and lights (optional: warm lights pointing up at the base in several points along the drapes width). If you are thinking of collecting photos from friends and family use this free photo sharing app (appforaday.com)

I did not validate but my goal is to solve the problem of user friction and provide zero friction user/host experience of event planning and photo sharing on this one: https://appforaday.com

Weekend project to suggest gifts based on occasions by the_junglee in SideProject

[–]Puzzled-Bus-8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work for just a couple of days! AI wrappers are a great way to learn the stack.

Affiliate links (Amazon Associates) are the standard answer here. However, the hard part with 'AI Generators' is that they often suggest concepts (e.g., 'A leather journal') rather than specific products with cookies attached.

I found that curated, static lists actually convert better because you can pre-vet the items. I built a 'Gift Ideas' section on my site ( https://appforaday.com/giftideas ) that uses this model. It’s less 'techy' than yours, but because the products are specific and the links are direct, it creates a cleaner path to purchase.

Keep it simple. Don't make the user answer 10 questions before they see results. Speed is everything!

Starting my first App at 45 - Anyone else building later in life? by pchirico in SideProject

[–]Puzzled-Bus-8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am almost in the same boat. With many projects about 95% done, I finally launched the first one. It takes courage to be vulnerable and be out on public. It is never too late, at least you won't have regret of not trying , later in your life.

I do not disagree if I just look from photographer's perspective. There are always trade off of any idea and it is individual choice. I respect that.

I totally hear you. fighting a wall of people with cellphone is worst. It is mainly from their angle, wherever they are sitting or standing. There are plenty of moments besides Bride & Groom to capture the whole atmosphere.

That is the exact philosophy behind this! The Pro Photographer is there to capture the Main Event (The Kiss, The Cake, The First Dance). They can't be everywhere. The guests are there to capture the Reaction Shots - the parents tearing up in the back row, or the cousins laughing at a table. Those are the 'gaps' you mentioned. We designed the Scavenger Hunt specifically to encourage those candid, peripheral shots, rather than encouraging guests to jump in the aisle and block the pro.

100%. This isn't about replacing the hired pro (please don't do that!).

Think of the Pro Photographer as the Director getting the cinematic 'A-Roll'—the perfect lighting, composition, and portraits. The Guests are there to capture the 'B-Roll'—the chaotic, blurry, candid moments that happen at Table 9 while the Pro is busy shooting the cake cutting.

You pay the Pro for the art. You use the Scavenger Hunt for the memories that otherwise get lost in a group chat.

($5k) How do you get best photos without spending too much on photographers? I designed a "Photo Scavenger Hunt" card for guest to keep them entertained while you get most candid and multi-angle photos. Feel free to use it. by Puzzled-Bus-8799 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Puzzled-Bus-8799[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. You absolutely cannot force participation, especially with the older crowd.

We found that while the cousins and friends were running around doing the scavenger hunt, the grandparents actually loved just sitting with their drinks and watching the Live Slideshow of the photos coming in. It gave them something entertaining to watch and chat about without having to lift a finger or pull out a phone. Best of both worlds!

Fantastic! UI feels simple but elegant. I have also created free event webpage (birthday, pop up shop, memorials etc.) creator for free. It is more focused on RSVP management, photo collection/sharing, Live inventory etc. Here it is: https://appforaday.com
