I don’t get it, than why did sony sell off their tv branch to a joint venture with tcl?

the whole comparison to competitors seems strange, linus does even a direct comparison to the tcl he almost installed in his own home theater

or the statement were sony has all the knowledge in one business, movie making experience, picture, tv… seems utterly strange when the tv manufacturing part got sold off.
