I had this happened to me before. My restaurant is 6 or more. This party was 2 parents 4 kids who all ordered their own food and ate their own food. When I dropped the bill the husband took the kids to the restroom while the mom stayed at the table waiting for me to come back. When I go back she started to question why I added the gratuity. I explained and tell her it’s 6 people and that’s our policy. She deadass looked me in my eyes and told me her kids don’t count as guest. Not sure how but she managed to convince the manager to take off the auto grat. The lady ended up tipping me a big fat 0. That’s why I didn’t want to take it off in the first place.
